Ouch...

So my first trip to DTK Heroic was...interesting. First boss, downed him cake. Second boss, pretty easy killed him first try. King Dred got me twice but I finally got him. Prophet...omgwtf - couldn't get him below 85%. Basically once he transformed me I was gone. I think the puddles were killing me, he would throw one down and then start turning me back into normal but the puddles were doing 1200 damage every tick and by the time I became normal again all my shamans were <1k health and died instantly before I could get a single chain heal off. This happened 4 times before I gave up for tonight.

Any tips on this boss? All the posts I've read regarding this boss have no useful information. Basically they just say "spam 3 and 4 when you turn undead and then chain heal and start nuking again afterwards". Not sure how I'm supposed to do that if I can't even survive through 1 undead phase. The sad thing is he does utterly pathetic damage when I'm alive.

Is the only way to survive this boss to constantly run around while you're undead to avoid puddles? Does the shadow bolt life drain thing I can use force me to be facing the boss to use it? If not I suppose I could just run circles around the boss spamming 3 and 4 and not worry about anything else. I'm done for tonight as I didn't want to spend more time wiping on him but if theres some trick that makes him easy(er) I'd love to know it!

Alright this is cake heres how.

Spread your team out so if he does puddle only one of them gets hit. I really never get hit by more then 1-2 puddles max really. Use 4X Healing Stream totems as this is not really a DPS race ever just slow and steady. Make sure if you use FTL setup, you have some way of your followers targetting him (/assist) and spam 3 and 4 on everyone but add 2 to your tank (thats taunt when you get turned into skellys).

Move out of the puddles and heal when needed but try and tank him facing away from your team then you won't get hit by his shadowbolt volley. This guy is probably the easiest boss in the instance once you figure him out. Save your bloodlust for near the end of his death and use it right after you turn back into human form.

Spread the DPS across the stairs. When you do the pull, move them within melee range by pressing forward. Tank and spank him, with some tank and AOE healing here and there as needed. When you become a skeleton, click taunt on the tank only, use the 3 key for your bone shield, then spam 1 for melee and 4 for life drain. Use life drain every cooldown and reshield whenever it's down. When he places a puddle under the team, just press forward again, turn them, then continue. That's the whole fight. It's really easy once you learn it.

You may also want to place a nature resist totem down before the pull, and think about using shadow protection buff (if you have it) or the aura.

Tharon'ja is eternal...

... unless you move out of the puddle.

One thing that's really helpful on this guy is to drop nature resist and 4x healing stream.
Healing stream will heal you even in skeleton form.

Another nice thing I started doing here is to put the dd to follow the healer. That way I can easily move the tank and the rest independently. I then constantly run with the healer, only spamming this self heal attack (button 4?) and taunt / bone shield with the tank

Uh... what puddles?? I bunch them all up and spam 3 and 4 button until he transitions back and then if I need to (most of the times I dont) I chain heal and continue dps. I downed him first try and havent wiped to him yet. LOL I find it funny I didnt even know he had a ground AE. I can't believe you killed Novos first try though, wtf =(

On the last boss, i dont even heal anyone except the tank as needed, i bunch my guys up or slightly spread them just to the right of the stairs, and drop 3 healing stream totems, its a very quick fight, i usually get him near dead or dead before the 3rd transformation.

I am also suprised on your novos kill first attempt, he gives me problems still.

I find trollgore gives me more grief at the moment than anything. I skip novus, im just up for that much of a headache again after my first 20 or so attempts trying to kill him. He was bad enough on normal. The other 2 bosses are easy enough ive found. Ive never really had any issues with tharonja, But i always keep 4 healing stream down so thats probably why ive never noticed the puddle.

Edit: I just noticed hachoo that you have a deathknight as your main, So im guessing once novus becomes targettable you just drop anti-magic zone on top of all of them and burn him down?

Funny enough when I took him down on the first try on heroic I completely forgot to drop an anti magic zone. I will probably be running DTK again tonight and if I do I will definitely be dropping an AMZ at the start of the battle. The real trick was 4x healing stream and frost resistance totem. I might try 4x fire elementals for extra dps/add handling this time also to make it even easier.
