I was looking at the gear today and decided I am going for the +hit gear. I usually get the crit pvp gear but the cloak, neck, +hit items look nice. Plus I can use them for pve where finding plus hit is hard. I dont raid naxx or do heroics right now. Once they release the wintersgrasp pvp gear that will give me helm, boots, neck, & cloak with +hit. Let me know what you guys think about going +hit for the neck and cloak.

Going after the exact same items - I think its a nice boots to your Hit and its fairly easy to get :)

Why would you do this, it's far too much +hit for PvP (4%) and also for PvE non-raids (6%). The only stuff you need a lot of hit for is raid bosses, and even *then* it's not that hard to get the 17% - reachable through quest / crafted items in many if not most cases.
I'd get stats that help what you do most. If you do decide to raid, you can swap some gear pretty easily to get hit capped.

I guess all of the Classes have a talent that increases (don't know the right word) ... (what was that? not miss , it's hitting but not doing dmg ... ?!)
I guess all of the classes have talents that decreases the chance of getting hit by spells. (ha, this works *lawl*) With this you fill in the gap that was created by those talents.

Thats the only mail items with +hit. If I want to get +hit I need to take leather cloth and socket for hit. I am not running naxx or other raids so I wont be getting any of this gear. I am not sure what the amount of hit you need for pvp is but watching my lavaburst miss pisses me off. Also, your talking about a neck and cloak which is not much +hit. I am going to save myself some honor and get the wintersgrasp helm and boots. Both have +hit. Right now my pvp gear has no hit so I miss a lot.
All those items would net me 148hit. I have 1 point in our talent that gives me 1%hit. I would be slightly over 5% hit which should be good for pvp.

pretty much why my PvE shamans are wearing A LOT of cloth and leather.... elemental mail itemization sucks balls.

why not take your +hit from your talent tree and take the other specs from gear ???

i raided nex on one of my sham. only did 1800ish dps with 2100 spell power and mostly because I was missing so much. I have like 120ish hit atm and all three points in the talent. Then a spell dagger dropped with nice hit on it and i lost 8(

I would have to give up 2 talent points in something else to get the 2% hit. I think those few pvp items with +hit and my 1 point in the talent should cap me for pvp. I will have 5% and that should be good vs players lvl 80. Missing lavaburst really suck.

You can get all the hit you need from your misc slots really. Here is the list of Quest/Crafted/Rep items for pre-raid spell hit I made for my Warlock. There are 2 cloth items but I don't think for raiding it is a big for Shaman. And obviously in PvP you need nowhere near this much +hit.
Ring of Northern Tears = 43
Voodoo Signet = 24
Emeline's Locket = 45
Flameheart Spell Scapel = 34
Dark Soldier Cape = 29
Rune of Infinite Power = 55
Hat of Wintry Doom = 52
Sash of the Wizened Wyrm = 40
Gloves enchant = 20
Boots enchant = 12
= 354 hit rating or ~13.5%.
Also, you could get a weapon chain for +28 and a battle elixir for +45 more.
Spell hit cap is 17% for bosses and most classes have +3% from talents. Also you can get +1% hit from having a Draenei in group, and improved Faerie Fire or Misery debuff will grant another 3% to the raid. So you could be capped in raids if you have as little as 10%.
I personally have Outfitter set up with a lower +hit setup for trash, since only +6% is needed.
