laptop crash

was rebooting laptop to set up for a web/info pc every time first cd is done it stops/crashes any 1 have any ideals? i was thanking it is the harddrive not shore wanted to ask befor i go buy a new 1

well its both hardware anbd software its a hardware crash im prity shore but its doing it when i go to instale windows which is a software <ass>
and i dont really have any more info to give laptop was working fine hade alot of crap/porn on it so i wanted to reboot it and get rid of it all and i started crashing at 25%ish
right when second disk would go in
