Hey, I was wondering how you guys would box a druid & mage combo, im boxing it as 2x spellcaster right now which basicly means frostbolt/wrath, HoT's spam, and for easy mob groups I have the druid stationary spaming heals while I aoe down the mobs with the mage. It's going well and all, but as mobs grow harder and harder I dont see myself NOT using the druid as main in bear/cat form, so I wonder if its any good dualboxing with a feral druid? I know meele sucks to box, but anyone got a input if I should continiue playing the druid as caster or try to start going feral?

you can root the mob.

and when you level, fighting harder and harder mobs, wouldnt your skills (you know, the stuff you learn from trainers, and from talents) only get better in order to handle the "harder" mobs? now they're not as hard anymore.

cheers.

hahahah, I enjoyed your post, hinting on me being a newbie to WoW or retarded, you missed the point so the jokes on you (in my book) and with harder and harder mobs I mean taking on elites, bigger mob groups, higher level mobs, etc.

As for avoiding all of the questions I asked I salute you. *cough* retard *cough* If your post was intended to be sarcasitc you failed, but if your intentions where intended to be helpfull I return my witty remarks.

Edit : Yes I cant spell in english, yes my grammar might be off, that dosen't make me a retard or less skilled then you.

touchy.

but im glad you enjoyed my post.

there's nothing stopping you from taking on elites, bigger mob groups, or higher leveled mobs NOW. so whats the difference in the future as you level up? your question, then, made little sense.

and yes, learn to root. you can thank me later.

i believe elsegundo's just trying to clarify the meaning of skills in that context meaning your toon's learnable and trainable abilities and not skills as in your personal level and style of play.

and i agree that as you level, things will pretty much stay the same as it is now like how you do it. that's if you're dealing with normal mobs along your level bracket. you would only need the drood to cat/bear or go feral if and/or when you decide to tackle elites and instance mobs (within your level bracket ofc).

edit: play nice :P p.s. this post was intended to be in between posts 3 and 4

haha I can root, and well it will stay the same but as I use RAF I wont have gear up to date for different zones, but lets leave it at that. Is it more effiecnet and fast to level a feral druid or will it be easier/faster as caster?

Spec the druid Balance, so you can get Boomkin asap. If you're going to cast, then get serious about it. Going feral if you're going to sit there and spam heals and such is a waste - you might as well go resto. Boomers are great to run with - great buff, good survivability, and serious dps if you spec right and use the right rotation - plus you can use cloth or leather - there's not as much specific Boomer drops, but they can use so many pieces, it's not hard to gear them.

Don't get me wrong, I love feral, but it's a pain to manage with other classes. At least to me, it is. My Boomkin is very low maintainence, and what she brings to the table - roots, trees, buffs, armor, and casting, I just love the Boomkin class right now. :) She just got a full Overcast set, and is kicking major butt!

I would keep the mage Frost, for survivability and CC, and plenty of DPS. My mage is fire, but I have more tricks to grab aggro back when she nukes a mob (she's a HUGE aggro magnet, especially now with FrostFire) with a druid and a lock - the felguard manages to keep aggro most of the time, thank god!

feral will have no downtime.
use mage for short casts after your cat has aggro.
use feral faerie fire to pull.
if your mage goes oom, you have two innervates.
if you run out of innervates, cat can solo until mage regains some mana.
cat heals himself during fights.

you might have problems with elites. but a good strat is to load up on rage befire you hit 1/2 health, then frenzied rejuv. take a potion also. have mage nuke so long as you have aggro. outlast the elite. for elites though, id rathat have the druid root while the mage nukes. for multi mob pulls your mage can sheep.

you may be able to aoe swipe with mage arcane explosion if you can last that long in bear form. also note that after every pull, you'll need to heal your bear.

I ran a druid/warrior and found it easier to have to caster as the main and the melee as the trailer. What that allowed me to do is have complete control over threat generation and I could start dps quicker since the warrior could charge from ranged. The problem you might run into if the melee is the main would be it needing to follow you into combat and stop moving before caster unless you took it off follow before hand which for me seemed like more of a hassle.
