I made a post on the ROM forums asking for a response on the legality of multiboxing. You can read my thread here ('http://us-forum.runesofmagic.com/showthread.php?p=12652#post12652') .

About 10 min after I made the thread I received this PM from an official frogster rep (not sure why he didnt reply to the thread...).

Anyways, so boxing should be good there... I didnt like the first sentence of the reply it didnt make much sense to me, and he more or less says they allow it strictly from a profit perspective... but hey gotta appreciate the honesty.

from the nda/eula (that was linked to from that thread)

You may not network the Game or otherwise use the Game on more than one computer or computer terminal at the same time...

Here ('http://us-forum.runesofmagic.com/showthread.php?p=12821#post12821') is another post on an actual thread by an admin.

Apparently we are good for 5 accounts.

Looks interesting. Keep us updated with detail. I still have much to get done in WoW before I get distracted by another mmo. But free+multiboxing+good game might=new game in the near future hehe 8)

Does RoM accept keystrokes while running in background ?

AFAIK this is an important point for boxing on a single PC.

If it does it might be a real alternative to WoW since I dont wont boxing across multiple PCs.

Cheers

I've got the client coming down. Should be able to do some testing over the weekend. From reading their class descriptions I'm thinking Knight, 3x Mage, Priest.

CheersYes, it does. I've three-boxed in RoM on the same PC.

Any suggestions on servers, I'm just now doing research. Got the client installed at home, going to test drive tonight if I can.

Edit: looks like I'm going to roll on Krynn (PvP)

Question:
I currently dualbox in WoW with a paladin and priest couple, I also got warlock and druid couple and dual mages & shamans. Always interested to make it with 5 characters or even with 6, because in RoM I understand that's is the group size. Not have done it in WoW because don't have cash to pay for 5 accounts. X(
Also basing to post on RoM forums it's allowed number of chars to play, basing this post http://forum.us.runesofmagic.com/showpost.php?p=40329&postcount=18

So to my question, how to you create multiaccounts, it's telling me when I try it's not possible to use same email again. So I need to make 5 more emails and register accounts to them?

Parties in RoM are 6 men, I've been boxing them for a few weeks so far (since the big downtimes and instability of 3.1 in WoW).
When you create your main Frogster account, you can then create additional game client instance accounts under that, much like the battle.net layout WoW now has. So no need the try to create a whole new Frogster account with different email.

All characters get to pick 2 classes, a primary and a secondary.

My current party is going to be (they aren't high enough level to get the second class yet):

Knight/Warrior -> the tanking king

Priest/Scout or Priest/Mage -> Primary healer (putting points into all things healing)
Priest/Rogue-> Backup healer and master buffer (putting points into increased buff effectiveness over healing power)

Mage/Priest -> DPS with some extra hot ability, but mostly just more priest dps spells
Mage/Scout -> DPS, spells with ranged scout abilities
Mage/Rogue -> DPS with melee backup ability

When considering your class combinations you should consider the "elite skills" that each combination will give you at levels 15,20,25, and 30. The lists can be seen at these links:
Levels 15,20,25 ('http://forum.us.runesofmagic.com/showthread.php?t=375')
Level 30 ('http://forum.us.runesofmagic.com/showthread.php?t=3838')

I started my guys on the Govinda (PvE) server, since I had read somewhere in the forums that it had been the lowest population at the time. All (Aboron*) names.

Also, a few things that It helped me to know when first getting setup (thanks to digitalxero over in the ISBoxer IRC chatroom for his help and patience):

1) The default attack action also does the same thing as WoW's Interact with Target function - so it can be used for attacking, looting, and opening chat with NPC's
2) TheRomWiki ('http://www.theromwiki.com/index.php/') has a lot of helpful info for writing macros
3) the first 2 macros I needed to get moving and fighting were:
/script FollowUnit( "party1" ); and
/script AssistUnit("party1");
4) Curse has some good addons for RoM: the two most important ones for me are:
FaceTargetToAttack ('http://rom.curse.com/downloads/rom-addons/details/facetargettoattack.aspx') - keeps everyone pointed the right way when I hit my spell buttons
QuestWiz ('http://rom.curse.com/downloads/rom-addons/details/questwiz.aspx') - helps me figure out where to go for items, etc.

Thank you, that helped a lot.

I now have my team done on EU server named Siochain, some testing and adjusments done and everything is working good enough for my first bigger than 2 character team.

Team is --> Knight, Priest, Priest, Mage, Mage, Scout haven't yet thinked over secondary classes, they are only lvl 1-2 so no need yet.

Biggest problem is with the windows because haven't need secondary monitor with 2 characters. So it's hard work to get quest and return quest with every character differently, so is it possible to make macro to target party1 target and accept/return quest with single button for all chars?

Another question. Is the only possibility to change "auto-add windows titled" by hand in keyclone? Or is it possible to make to settings, for RoM and WoW?
