Sorry, Really Dumb Modifier Question

I've never had any luck getting any macro to work that's had a modifier in it. I understand how to write them and what they are suppost to do, they just don't work when I try and use them.



Simple Example.



#showtooltip drain life
/stopcasting
/cast [modifier:alt] Drain Mana; Drain Life



This should drain life or drain mana when clicking alt also.



Am I missing something or doing something wrong? Do I need to settup a function in the bindings or click/unclick a setting some place?

When Alt is pushed you will use Drain mana, if not Drain Life.

You can try to remove the #showtooltip Drain Life

Sorry, i don't have a warlock so I'm not sure, but is the spell actually "Drain Life" or is it "Drain Life(Rank 2)"?

Also, can you post your actual macro? I don't know if [modifier:alt} works since I have [mod:alt}

the [ ] looks exactly like { } in wow. make sure that is correcly [ ].

also, if you dont specify the rank, it will just do the highest rank you know. so its not a rank issue.

are you casting this with your main? are you casting this with your slave? if you're casting this with your slaves, you'll need to somehow have the slaves target the mob.

It's working now.. drain mana effect wouldn't on the training dummy.

Wow, I had no idea about that... wish I would have known before updating my spell ranks every time I leveled up!
