Farming Emblems

And for my second topic:

I currently have 2 full dungeons on easy mode farm and was looking for peoples thoughts on fastest emblems farming. I run UK and Gundrak for 7 emblems and both take about 45mins each. I then pop into Drak for the first boss and I also do the first boss in UP after finishing UK. So that's 9 emblems per farm session. Now these instances are a long damn flight and I was thinking if I could farm something closer I might actually save time or an easier/faster instance would mean more emblems/hour. Share your farming runs please!

You apparently get 5 emblems for clearing The Nexus, though you need to spend some time before that's a quick clear. Gundrak and Drak'Tharon are 4 badges each and I've been able to do wipeless clears on them in under 2 hours combined, though I didn't time it out.

Hmm I see your group is a combo and not 4 shaman. How do you deal with Blizzard on Novos? I would think that would drive your healer nuts.

You can skip Nov's. Easy 3 kills in Drake. I do 3 in Drake, 5 in Gun, then I fly over the hill to HoL and kill first two there ( easy ) Then UK 3, and first two in UP. I have everything I need Pave wise from badges. I will spend the rest on PCP gear and just save them after that.

I wanted to add I have not even tried HoS yet. I might try HoS and see if I can do a few bosses easy. As far as farming goes, I do not waste time on bosses that wipe me a lot. I will get them all at some point. But I'm content with 10-15 badges a day. I spend a lot of time in wintergrasp as well. I'm going to make a video of me controlling 5 demolishers..FUN!!

Embarrasing, but I wipe to the TRex in Drak... I just have not figured out how to kill this punk yet.



Anyone get the mounts from Culling of Strathole yet? This should be fast emblems too if you are doing the timed run! I haven't even tried the instance yet.

King Dred is a pushover. Just make sure you have tremor totem down and overheal your tank. He does a large amount of damage when he starts his damage spike but it is easy to see cause he starts with a raptor call and then goes on and on till Grievious Bite (which can do like 10k damage). Other then that just start with bloodlust and goto town he dies in like 1 min.

As for the Culling I have completed it but I swear there is no way I can do it at this point within the 25 minutes.

You have tried on your MB group I take it? From the way you stated it, it sounds like you had someone else tank for the runs your shaman got the mount OR you did the runs solo with PUG.

I have the mount on 3 of my guys in strat, but I have been running them solo with friends/pugs. Its 10x ezier solo than multiboxing unfortunately, since a simple mistake in the gauntlet will lead to a quick wipe for a multiboxer, but in a pug everyone is just aoeing like mad and it works out great. I suspect CoT will be a lot easier in next patch with magma totem to deal with the pesky zombies.

If you can get violet hold down it would be an awesome source of badges, extremely fast (like cot) and in dalaran. Unfortunately I rarely make it past the hard bosses multiboxing, its a lot easier taking just one in at a time.

I have a tank which I am not controlling and that means alot obviously :-) We've had 5 minutes left on the timer, at the time we reached the boss.

Gundrak is 5, yes, sorry for the mistake. I always clear Gundrak when I have time,and I never skip Eck. He's just too easy once your DPS is quick enough to kill him pre-enrage. If you can clear the instance Gundrak is almost definitely the fastest 5 you can get, although since there's no trash in Azjol'Nerub, I might start trying to do that as well.

Travel time is a bear. Here's one thing I do.

I split my 5-box team up with their Hearthstones. I put two near one dungeon area and two near another. Then I just use summoning stones to port myself around. Since I have 2 multibox teams, I do the same with the others and am generally able to summon myself to a nearby instances very quickly.

Shamans or Druids (or others) that can teleport to a sell location are always handy as well... I load up my druid with grey junk then Moonglade port to sell every 2-3 runs as needed.

I don't think you can do Azjol Nerub consistently without wipes. Some of the trash in there can make things go south quickly (the three pulls before first boss) and waiting for the 2nd boss to move up takes a while as well as 3rd boss is HARD from what I understand.

Just to make sure, you have to get through the burning part after the 3rd boss to the point where you have to tell Arthas you are ready to proceed to fight Mal'Ganis. At this point there is an extra boss in that general area that must be killed BEFORE the timer runs out. Are you saying the boss wasn't there or that you killed it and it didn't drop the drake?

It starts when the first wave spawns and will be shown in the top center of your screen just like the waves are.

there is no credit other then one person getting the drake. No achievement or anything.

in DTK, pull King Dred (the T-rex) 1/2 way up the stairs. His adds will get bugged and won't attack you. He's extremely easy after that. After he dies, the adds will engage you. The last boss is extremely easy.

DTK and Gun'Drak are my emblem farming instances. usually under 40 minutes each on heroic.

My "routine" before switching to hunters (still levelling them) was this: Keep, Pinnacle, Gundrak, Drak'Theron and finish off with CoT. I think that's about 20 emblems. Took me about 3 hours, depending on how much I slacked (I tend to afk a lot). With 20 emblems a day, you'll quickly have all the emblems and rep gear you need (plus some emblems for future gear).

Skadi is a pain and so is the mojo boss, but other than that, the strategies quickly becomes routine.

Heh I tried VH on NORMAL and got wiped by final boss, lol. It killed any desire to try it on heroic =/

ya i'd love to hear some tips on H VH -- the doggie boss and bird boss are no problems, but if I get the ethereal, water guy, or void walker its pretty much over and I stop.

I one shot Violet Hold on heroic last night, and it was the quickest way to get badges for sure because it's like 20 minutes total in there. I don't know how to comment on strategy. All I did was turn on the resistance aura for whatever the boss was doing and just tank and spank and spam AOE heals, because honestly I had no idea what the real strats for the bosses are. On the final boss I also had to push backwards to move them out of him when he pulled them all in.

BTW this worked like a charm last night, downed the TRex with no probs! I didnt even have to kill the adds he summons after =)

I take back any suggestion to do Violet Hold. If you get Ichoron as a boss, you'll want to kill yourself. It has to be in the top ten worst fights to multibox due to the extreme knockbacks. It will knock you all over the place and completely disorient you. It's not THAT bad with the crystals and if you got a druid with Starfall, but if something goes wrong you need to basically redo the entire instance including all the bosses. It seems to me that Violet Hold is horribly undertuned in general, but I can't fathom the moron at Bliz who thinks risk/reward means that it's cool to slap together a bunch of half-assed bosses and use having to reclear the instance again as a penalty for actually wiping. Make the instance start from the last boss you killed, and make the bosses harder. Okay, I don't feel like reclearing 12 waves just to take another try at a stupid boss. Hell, I don't feel like reclearing 18 waves if by some chance I get a lag spike while killing the final boss. Major fail. Do VH at your own risk.

Most of the bosses aren't really designed too tough, just some random damage and you tank and spank them. It's just that it seems if you wipe you basically have to do the ENTIRE thing over again, so in the chance that anything at all goes wrong you're pretty much screwed in terms of your emblems per hour.
