Hey all, new guy here. Im currently triple boxing and had my roommate boost/power me though the SM. Awesome fun, lots of cloth and huge XP with my RAF three box mages. Here's the question:

What is Suvega talking about in the WIKI as far as "ACCOUNT YOU EVER MULTIBOX NEEDS TO BE IN THE SAME NAME. PERIOD. YOU WILL GET BANNED. YOU WILL GET BANNED. GGGGGGGggGGgGG." ?

I i mean im understanding that if i where to power level, or boost in a way that BLizz thinks im gunna sell the toons at lvl 80 i could get banned, but all three of my accounts are paid on my credit card, all have the same last name, my name. The only thing is when i created the accounts i used two diffrent first names. My Wife's and Son's to keep things organized. Is this bannable?

It might be nothing, but i figured id ask.

hasta la rasta pasta

p.s. forgive my spelling. sooo tired.

Playing an account that's not in your name = forbidden.
Multiboxing = you will get GM attention.
Multiboxing using several accounts with names that don't match = GMs will find out in short order = the accounts will get banned.

Any questions?

Account 2: Bob Green=safe to play

Account 3: Bob green=safe to play

Kind regards,

I've got another question:
If i was playing 2 accounts with the same name, but if i was helping them with another account (which belongs to a friend of mine) - is this bannable?

It is if you're playing it.

It isn't your wife's account - it is your DAUGHTER's account <wink wink>.

You can 'share' accounts with your underage children - but not your spouse. I guess because your kids don't really own anything - you own it/are responsible for it.

let me see if I can dig up the actual verbage-

Eligibility.
You represent that you are an adult in your country of residence. You agree to these Terms of Use on behalf of yourself and, at your discretion, for one (1) minor child for whom you are a parent or guardian and whom you have authorized to use the account you create on the Service. Anyway - aside from all that - you aren't going to have any trouble.

The child thing only works if it's under your name. I.e. the child of the person it's registered to can use it.

Multibox accounts with different names and you will be banned. Usually in very short order. /thread.

If you are playing the account that belongs to your friend, then that is something you will get banned for because the account belongs to your friend, not you.

If your friend is playing his own account, and helping you, then you will be safe.

People, please don't suggest ways around WoW's ToS.

the answer is no. you will not get banned.

if you're playing your RAF accounts (thats under your name) and your friend is on HIS account boosting you... then there is nothing wrong with that.

If you want wink and nudge go somewhere that isn't so strict on the ToS/EULA.

Hey to put it simply:

If you are only controlling accounts that have YOUR name on them, the go for it.

If you are using your friends account to boost (like your friends lvl 80 paladin), and you are controlling it, you will get banned.

There is a very simple rule here: Do not play accounts that are not yours. Period.

/winkhmm lets see if i can put this into terms that won't break the forum rules. /wink
lets say you have your account set up as follows:

Account 1: John Johnson - Dad (you)
Account 2: Jesica Johnson - your wife
Account 3: James Johnson - your son

ok, so now say your setup is like this, according to the Blizzards TOS you can only legally play Acc1 and Acc3 (yours and your sons).
now say Acc2 was your daughters, if this was the case then according to the TOS your can legally play all three accounts. i think you get the picture.

i am not trying to explain how to bypass the TOS i am only showing an example of what is allowed and what is not allowed! (atleast i think i am)

Hope this helps. ^_^

again, i do not want to break the forum rules and i am meerly explaining an example of what is allowed by the TOS and what is NOT.

As an adult you can play an account in your name and your name only. As a minor you cannot own an account in your name and may only use an account owned by your parent or guardian.
Eligibility.

Real hard to misinterpret. Are you an adult? If no then you are not eligible to create a WoW account. If yes you may create an account and allow a single one of your own minor children to use it.

It's extremely clear that an adult is not allowed to use an account they do not own. The only possible way someone would be allowed to use an account in more then one persons name is if they were a minor child of two parents who each had accounts. I wouldn't suggest it even then unless you want to deal with the ban and sending blizzard proof of everyone involved identities.

You know i never had a problem with this even when reported. All my accounts have a different name on them but using the same billing address and credit card number. Ive been reported before and been asked if they were my accounts i said yes cause they technically are. But i have never been banned on any of them. Not sure if the trace to your wow folders and ip addresses are noticed by blizzard. But with this being said i think if blizzard notices they come from the same ip address all the time and they are not being abused then i dont think it matters. So i am gonna find out if not i wish there was a way to change names on accounts cause i found one problem i cant transfer characters lol dammit. I should have read this site before making accounts so i knew you could do that with same names on all accounts. I mean ive done this before in socom 3 mulitple accounts for exp gaining rank up rooms but i had to make all different names.
