View Full Version : Which Would be Faster?
I am interested in leveling two classes to 60(+).
I am curious if it would be faster to level the 2 classes I want to 60 while dual-boxing, or to level 5 of the same classes to 60 then use RaF levels to instantly level the 2 classes I want to 60.
I will most likely never use the 5 characters I level to 60; I am only interested in the 2 60s.
I am planning to level a Rogue/Warrior and some form of healer. Any suggestions on dual-boxing synergy between a Shaman/Priest/Paladin/Druid and a Rogue/Warrior would be appreciated, as well.
Thanks.
Using RAF will always be faster.. plus you get the gifted levels.

Sorry If I made it unclear, but if I level the 2 characters from 1-60 together, it will be using RaF as well.

I only know what I've read in all the FAQ's/guides, as well as my own experience with R-A-F (without multiboxing), but I think it depends on how you're leveling. IMO, if you're only doing instances, then the 5 first would probably be faster. If you're doing quests, the 2 would be faster and simpler, allowing you to perhaps do collection quests more easily. From my non-multiboxing RAF experience, the vast majority of the XP is from the quests. At ~40's, myself and my partner are getting Outlands-level XP.

If you want just 2 characters to 60, just dualbox them by RaF + speedquesting. If you have done the area's before and know where to go, that should be a lot faster then farming instances with 5 characters.

Agreed. 2x 1-60 > 5x 1-60. With a little AH prep, you could probably do 2x 1-60 in around a day /played.

ive also noticed a difference too with 5 boxing or dual. When your in a grp of 5 u might be getting 3 times exp for questing but thats 3 times exp split cause of 5 getting the kill exp. Find out for yourself at lvl 1 5 ina grp gets 50 per kill on a lvl one same as one char doing it right. Well with two you get between 75-100 so right there is a 25-50 exp difference. So you are deff better dual-boxing. Since you will get the same turn in exp as the grp of 5 does but the good thing is you get more per kill as you lvl. Oh on more thing when u hit 59 grant a new char to 25-27 depends if u can get good gear and twink at lvl 29. Since you are only doing 2 you can only grant 29 lvls so who cares about losing a cpl make a easy twink and get the bind on account gear lol.

Yea true but in the case added with looting. Its easier to do 60 total then 150 this way you can do more quests and lvl faster hehe. Always a way to make dual-boxing viable.

A five man group does not = killing 5x as fast. They may one shot most anything non elite in front of them, but so are non 5 man groups. Also 5man group gets 5 spells off and mob dies. 3 man group casts twice and gets 6 spells off and mob dies. That means the 5man is only killing twice as fast as a 3 man group.

I think I have decided to go dual-boxing. Now I can't decide healer+dps or 2 dps :[

Go dps/dps-healer class like mage/sp or shaman or druid.
This way you still have a means to give some kind of heal but can kill faster. Plus if your main dies and ur alt kills the target you have the most precious rez button. As most people that play this game know it sux sometimes having to run halfway across a map cause you have a group that doesnt have a rez button. Cause with mage you have plenty of cc if needed to get away then a sp druid or shaman have good dps as they level to help out.

4x RAF + 1x Booster or 2x RAF + 1x Booster, will be fastest most likely.

Actually ive done that before with a 70 druid running 4 druids thru instances right. Yea you get to lvl like 2 lvls per run but after a cpl runs u get so sick and tired of instances lol. You also have to be careful not to grab aggro with the alts so you need to leave your alts far back go round them up and aoe hehe. But dual-boxing is always fun and easy and you can lvl those 2 just as fast without having a booster due to you can still kill fast but you dont need to run around the world getting from instance to instance.
