First off I would like to mention that I used the search tool; wowwiki = multiboxing macros & basic macros, the stickies on macros, the dual-boxing.com wiki on macros & I still can't setup the right macros I had for my druid, priest, mage, hunter teams. I've been away for about 3 weeks & in that time I forgot everything, not to mention I formatted the HD to find out everything is server-side now.

The only macro that seems to work for me is the damn accept all macro.

I need a macro that can /focus on the main & then follow & a macro that will /focus on main & /assist to like cast a spell healing/dps
I plan on using the F1-F12 keys so please remind me if I need to have all buttons set to the same or just the button slots. I'm using bartender 4 as my add-on for action bars.

I tried:
/focus [target= charmain]
/follow

/clear focus
/focus target charmain
/follow

I don't know if being in this type of patch things got changed or what, but overall I suck at macros & suck even more at trying to understand them. I'm just gonna put out the warning that this thread will turn into my "macro put a bullet in me, please save me community thread" :cursing:

3-week breaks shouldn't be the reason for forgetting this crap...ugh!

p.s. thanks for the help in advance

Set focus:
/focus charmain

to assist:
/target focustarget

( I haven't tried, but I would assume):

/follow charmain -or-
/follow focus

edit to remove unintended smiley....

As another thought on the focus thing, Can someone recommend a macro that will set the focus to the group leader? After I invite everyone (with a macro) I would like to hit another macro to set the focus automatically.

Jamba is awesome for the folowing - and alot of other things - do yourself a favor and download it (its stickied in the software forum).

EDIT: Its actually in the Addons forum. ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=12887&pageNo=1')

The problem is that the strobe causes the followers to stop eating/drinking which is bothersome. That is why I would like a /focus partyleader style macro, which would then lead into a /follow focus that I can hit manually. Unless Jamba can be set to not strobe while sitting down.... My horde team are fire mages, which involves a lot of drinking (much like my college days. heh). Follow strobes just aren't an option there.

*EDIT: Wow, ask and you shall receive! I just saw Jamba was updated, and in the update notes from the last rev, it includes no strobing if drinking. Now to figure out how to make it work.......

I am concerned that it will be a self-focus for all of them tho, since F1 is always self. Maybe party2? I will report back what I find.

--Tutunkommonno. party1 is not the same as F1. F1 is a function key to target youself. party1 is an option embedded into a macro to tell the spell you've chosen to use to target the first person in your party list. its kinda different. just try it. you'll see.

Well then I have another question. Is it smart for me to have the following:
/focus charmain
/follow

Am I at least 90% of the time going to have the macro work?

I realized early on that using ANY macro with a specific name would make for more work down the road. So here's what I've done for those "universal" macro's that could be used on any team I run (ie follow, focus etc...)

First, on my main i have a basic invite macro with a free for all option. Looks like this...

/invite xoss
/invite ioss
/invite loss
/invite joss
/ffa

I use the MTool addon and all my characters are whitelisted to auto accept invites. So I just tap this macro twice (once for invite, second to set ffa) and my group is up and going. Now, since I invite the same order every time the group members are in the same party slot every time and my main is obviously always the leader. This also makes it easy to setup healing macros. Since they members are in the same slot each time it's easy to remember who I'm healing with my resto shaman. I map all his heals to the numberpad 0-4. 0 always heals main, 1 always heals the healer, 2 always heals Ioss, 3 always heals Loss and 4 always heals Joss. I set it up this way so that they are numbered based of how they appear on my mains group window. Makes it really easy to know who needs a heal and which button to push without much thought. Basic heal macro looks like this...

/stopcasting
/target party2 (or whatever party number you want)
/cast lesser healing wave

Follow Macro (mapped to G key)

/focus party1 (this sets it to the group leader, the main)
/follow focus

Pretty simple. And it will work on any team I run. Since I hit that key a lot I'm always pretty sure my slaves have their focus set to the main. Then I just make an assist macro (mapped to V) to /assist focus and I'm done. Best of all, no matter what team I run these macro's will work without having to be changed. I tried using the F1-F12 keys but I kept using my left hand and taking it off the ASDW position. I didn't like this. I quickly realized that the number pad numbers are totally seperate from the 1-0 across the top of the keyboard. I preffer using the 1-5 across the top for main's abilities only, QERF for shared DPS and the number pad keys for Alt abilities like healing and totems since they are right next to the mouse hand.
