as I have only activated WOTLK on one of my six accounts, I decided to have a look around the Isle of Quel'Danas with my Lock today and run some dailies (only single and dual boxing today as we are around my GF's parents house and I'm using my MacBook Pro) .
The last time i was on the island was prior to the release of Wrath and the difference was incredible.. put it this way, I was the only one on the island the whole time I was there, it made such a change not to have to queue for mobs to kill 8)
4 mana dropped after 4 kills, each naga killed dropped a key, it was how dailies were supposed to be.. I had completed the circuit of the island in 25 minutes.

so it looks like i'll have my own private island for the next couple of months while i level my 6 teams from 60 -70 :thumbsup:

ooh ya this would be great for leveling... however it seems to me that lich king has a faster leveling path. I'm not sure how you can work this in with your normal leveling in lich king.

I'm not going to enable lich king on my 5 accounts until all my teams are at 70, as i never really had a chance to multibox kara as a 70 and run the heroics

I think he is only making the dailies with the lvl 70 team for cash until every of his other teams hit 70 and he afterwards unlocks wotlk for his accounts.

oh ok, bummer was hoping they opened the island to questing pre70 (obviously taking some 60s here would be death from the huge aggro range, but it would be great xp for 67+)

You can be summoned there, but you can't do any of the quests until 70. If you have WotLK activated on your account and your 70+ the quests will give XP just like any other level 70 quest.

did they nerf the gold from the dailies on the isle? it was around 10g per quest but someone was saying it's only 3g now?

Guys this is standard WoW rules - the same rules that apply to EVERY quest you do, the same rules that happened when BC came out:

If you're 80, the quest is gray to you, therefore you get a MUCH smaller amount of gold (~3g or so)
If you're 70, but you bought and upgraded to WoTLK, then the quest gives XP and only a small amount of gold
If you're 70 and you have NOT upgraded to WoTLK, then the quest gives exactly what it gave before WoTLK came out.

This is always how quests work and always how they will work.

i understand its' quick and easy, but you could make about the same money in northrend while doing your 30minute worth of quests, get xp, and gather rested xp at the same time i think

Because getting to 80 to grind dailies is a far chunk of time investment, especially if its solely to do dailies.

no, no, not what i meant.
just do normal northrend quests instead of the IQD daily ones, 30 minutes worth of it. (or whatever duration your IQD quests would take you).

You'll get about the same gold (counting rewards and DEs) but also get a bit of xp and shitloads of rested xp.
once you get all your toons to 70, some will actually be at 70.5, and they'll have 2.3 milion rested xp each
it would also be less repetitive i think.

just saying. i could be missing the point totally
