Haven't really played my shaman since I hit 70.
I was proud of this though : http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=get&tp=520049

You can toggle afk on and leave a message with it...

/afk I'm playing Aazan, this minion is controlled by me but I don't watch the screen.

And thats what they get when they /w you. I don't see how that would be bad to a GM... Blizzard is the one who put the /afk toggle auto clear option in.

Haha, I should probably put auto clear afk on. Doesn't matter though, all my tells forward to my main.

the AFK function also does not work in BG's, it will make you leave the game ><

I love the bgs...but I got *demolished* in arena. Honestly Ellay I don't know how you do it.

Mental load...heh. I don't have that problem, I have the OMG-FINGERS-TIED-IN-KNOTS problem. :P

I don't really have either problem =P
I have simply found many things most 5v5 teams do completely impossible to counter. I'm also wearing greens.
I can see 4 shaman and 1 healer (played by another player) being far more effective. As far as I know there is no shaman 5 box that has gotten past ~1700 rating.

I have won a couple games though! =D

Could you elaborate on what teams do to give you problems? I have a pve team that I 5 box through instances, but 5 shaman seems appealing. Or 4 shamans and another class.

Well, there's your problem.

As much as I hate to say it, adding a dedicated pally healer might be the best way to go if you are bent on boxing all 5 yourself. You still retain chain healing but also get plate, stuns, marks, and a not as squishy as a priest healer. Plus the bubble in arenas is just nasty.

With any other class combo, priest > pally. But Shammys can self heal (a bit).

So, in the arena format, I would think 4 shammy 1 pally would probably be one of the top multibox combos - at least theorycraftwise.

Hey Xzin:) You still play?

I've been wondering why Ellay doesn't run 5 shamans, just 4. I do have a 70 pally, which would be very convenient to powerlevel & team with the shamans. I've p'leveled my wife's shaman to 50, but sadly, she doesn't have the reflexes to do arenas:(

Guess I could control the pally, have the shamans on follow. I already have her casting windfury, lightning bolt, shocks, heals, etc through macros. There aren't many keybindings necessary for a holy pally. Hmm, this could get interesting.

Agreed on all counts. If I do any arena on the Shaman, I will get a second player to heal. My gear may be awful, but I can already tell that arena will be very difficult controlling all five.
Not really playing much at the moment. Not sure what I'm going to do on those characters yet.

If your stuck on playing 5, I would go with 5x Shaman. When you have to heal your entire force is on defensive, but one swift heal and your party is at full hp.

There is no time to manage non instant single target heals combined with taking out targets. It will just never happen.

Furthermore the real question is how high do you want to take it? The core weakness a completely Multi-boxed team encounters is not having every enemy covered, it plagues me as is.

2 Res capable opponents forces me to play toggle just to keep them in combat leaving me 0 time to actually take out a target. I can only imagine the nightmare that would be if the enemy has 3 healer's attempting to res and trying to stop that from happening playing all 5. It goes beyond what class is best for Arena's and plays into a simple game of chess. Where you are at a distinct disadvantage.

I really hope my videos were not misleading - I've multi-boxed for a very long time, and I've always done it in a cutting edge format be it PvE or PvP in many different MMO's. It's not always roses :)

Hey Ellay. Definitely not all roses! I fully appreciate how much dedication and frustration it must have taken to get duelist in arena...I am very impressed.
I've been backing off from my shaman lately. I did a few heroics with a 5x Totem of Wrath spec, and I had a great time with it. So, I decided to level a team designed purely for PvE. So we'll see how that goes.
Best of luck on Glad this season =D

Oh, and since this section of the forums seems to be mostly about setups, here's a view of my desktop.

The reason is says "evaluation copy" is I have the beta of Vista SP1. I wouldn't run Vista without it. XD
