Let me start off by saying that I am new to the hole Multi-Boxing thing.

I had seen a few people doing it in game, but never really appreciated it until I asked for some help with a 5 man quest in Icecrown. Evilseed replied and came with his 5 man druid recking crew. When he showed up I thought that it was going to be a little wierd having this guy help me.... boy was I wrong. He absolutely wrecked the 5 man elite in seconds. I was so interested in what he was doing that I followed him to his grinding spot and watched him AOE for a while. He was absolutely demolishing things in seconds. It was really a site to see. I have never seen anything like it since I started playing WoW.

Now I am completely interested in Multi-Boxing and will be starting up a team of 3. Any tips would be appreciated.

I have a team of 3 boomkins and absolutely love them. I'm looking forward to 3v3 arena, and I'm hoping to find a resto shammy and ret pally to join me for 5v5. Although I love seeing the 9 treants (jealous of his 15) and the fact that between starfall, treants, and hurricane you can practically AoE an entire zone (if you start taking damage just pop tranquility), fear still kills me. I love having the three druids and the stealth could come in very handy, but if I was starting fresh then I would consider a 2 boomkin, 1 shammy team for the fear protection. I don't think you'll do as well in 3v3 because the druid stealth factor will hopefully mean one dead teammate on the other factor almost immediately (pop out of stealth with a starfire, typhoon, cyclone other two if in LOS). One nice part about druids/shammys is that they can heal... I'm hoping that when I'm looking for 5 man when I hit 80 the fact that I can heal will be enough to find a tank and then I'll be ready to go.

Hey there!

Yea that was a load of fun. The best part was that mage trying to be pesky. He ended up hanging around the whole night, doing things ranging from arcane exploding me, to Blizzarding me in the middle of pulls, everything. Thankfully druids have a million hots and it ends up I can pull 25+ mobs and destroy them while a Blizzard pelts me down nonstop. Whoot!

I'm going to be transferring servers after xmas, how about roll on the server I go to with your new multiboxing team? I can help powerlevel you a bit I'm sure.

PS: The MC program is coming ANY DAY I promise, I'm just finishing up a little website for it :)

Battlechests are often $30 or less, good way to get your licenses. The Wiki link at the top of the page has loads of good start-up info. Software boxing tends to be the generic starter, via Keyclone if you don't mind $20 and want it to take less configuring, or AHK if you want/don't mind more being necessary.

There's a long-held tradition of releasing programs via a forum thread...:D

No, really! Release first, pretty website later.

Mannoroth seems pretty badass so far. Tons of people and everyone so far seems rather friendly towards me... Then again I was on Dentarg which was so small it was like playing solo.

Hey there, so yea I'm not sure what server I'm transferring to. I'm looking for a high pop server with slightly more alliance, and as much world PVP as possible.

I'm basically going to be world PVPing a lot (ie. camping the daily heroic summon stone LOL).

Any tips guys? After this X-Mas I'mma transfer, so in maybe 1-2 days.

If you're horde there's a few - I think Blackhand has more alliance than horde. Not sure about the amount of world PvP though. Silvermoon and Quel'dorai are pretty close pop wise (edge, alliance). Kael'thas as well.

I'm on Dawnbringer which is edge alliance and new so it's got a mix of newbies and transfers. You inspired me to go 5xBoomkin to try it out. Just hit 11 and got bear form.

Ya I'm on horde 4 shaman and 1 paladin. I have been in instances most of the time so people dont really see me. I run heroics all day pretty much =)

Shamans are Death, Famine, War, Conquest and the paladin is Pestilence.

azgalor is a pretty hot pvp bed for horde being out numbered, pvp active and theres a few multibox teams that call that server home:

there's shaone, shatwo, and so on... Me ghonosyph and moocrewa, b, and c.... bettysue and his alts, drayn and his alts.... whitebox, and his "color"-box crew, and i think there's a couple others that i'm forgetting... pretty friendly towards multiboxers, there's SOME hate around, but thats to be expected everywhere, i usually get a lot of praise, lately tho i seem to get bashed on mostly because i leveled 3 dk's and my druid up... lol people are more receptive to the totem dropping crowd it seems, but we all have fun! (runonsentenceFTW!)

i'd consider rolling up a few more druids soon too if you wanna hang over on azgalor :D my guild is "delirium theory" if you're looking for an invite, casual guild with raiding 10's aspirations and such :)

ps-merry christmas!! <3

P.S. the thought of leveling 0-70+ again... ECK...Druids absolutely shine in instances. Right now 5x boomkins can do a ton of instances due to sheer DPS plus 50%+ damage mitigation, however, they really shine by taking 1 druid and swapping it for feral tank spec. 1 feral 4 boomkin can handle anything due to the booms having enormous HOT healing capability while maintaining huge DPS.

my main was a druid for like 2 years.. thus the interest... since i have a 70 druid already on the one account.. maybe make a mage + 4 xdruid to 70... let the mage be bait:)

We're an original 20 server, high Alliance pop, and we have a raging war going over killing each other's faction leaders. PvE, tho.

Cenarius-US has more alliance then horde.
Not a whole lot of world pvp, but faction leaders regularly die for both sides.
It's a carebear server, if you're looking for pvp.

I've run into at least a dozen alliance multibox teams, not sure how many of those are the same player.
One alliance 10-boxer, the rest were 5's.
I've seen two sets of 5x boxing hordies in Wrath content, but they might be the same player.

Welcome to Blackrock, what are your characters names?

My Druids are only 63 but getting there.

have you tried speccing for the new group HoT on druids?

the first thing i thought when i read the new wotlk talents was how amazing being able to instant cast 5 stacks of hots on every one of your toons with one key. i know youd probably do less damage than full balance.. but having 7 seconds (?) of near god mode from a single cast seems like it would be unbeatable. you would rarely need to cast any other heal.. which means no single target healing, which would make healing between offensive casting much, much more efficient and easier to manage in pvp? i found circle of healing to be godly on 4x holy priests. as long as i had mana almost nothing could kill me.

i havent played wotlk, though, so i really dont know what the numbers are like on the heal and how effective it really is.

The group HoT isnt that powerful. I think at 63 it is ticking for 250(?) per person, so 5 wouldnt be that great.

edit: not to mention that they are nerfing it soon.

how fast does it tick, and does it cost a big chunk of mana? i imagined it being similar to the other new single target hot (the name escapes me.. bloom something? green icon lol). 5x that spell, aoe, would be insane.

edit: lifebloom =P i havent played wow in a long time.

Multibocks

It ticks every second, and it is 26% of base mana, so I'm not sure what a 63 has for base mana, but that seems like it would be about 1k mana?
