Ding 80x5 and Epic Flyers!

Woot! Hit 80x5 last night on my DK + 4 Shamans, and then today saved up the last bit of cash to get all my Epic Flying training and epic flyers. See pic below :)

Do DKs just buy the epic flyer or is there a quest involved?

DKs have to train the artisan flying skill like everyone else for 5k gold. The main difference is, they have a special mount they can get for 950G to replace both the regular and epic flyer (it auto scales to your flying level). This actually ends up costing ~650g more than just buying a regular flyer and epic flyer from the vendor but IMO the DK flying mount looks cooler than all the other non-rep purchasable mounts :)

Not sure about my Shamans, they had like 9 days /played already when I bought WotLK. All in all 70-80 took a couple weeks.

So the Horde DKs get the Skeletal Griffon as well?I don't think its a gryphon. Its just called "The Winged Steed of the Ebon Blade". To me it looks like a flying version of the DK horse.

Just figured I would add, I now have a Titansteel Destroyer on my Death Knight and a Titansteel Guardian on each of my 4 shamans :)

Man, after hitting 80 and getting my epic flyers money FLIES in. I am making something like 3000+g per day right now just doing a bunch of icecrown dailies followed by actually trying to finish quests in ice crown. Was able to buy the 5 weapons, a bunch of miscellaneous mats for other things, my 5 epic fliers, etc. This is great. Now that the REALLY expensive stuff is out of the way I'm going to focus on getting one of my shaman's JC skill up to 450, and enchanting to 450 (probably have most of the mats needed already), then I'll buy a couple tank pieces to raise my def and fill in some of the crap gear on my shamans and then start attempting some heroics.

Oh, and I should probably level my DK's 2H mace skill - he equipped the titansteel destroyer tonight but only has a mace skill of 1 :D

I sure hope money flies in after getting epic flyers - I just blew 35K on regular flying skill, epic flying skill, epic flying mounts, and cold weather flying for my team of level 77s.

I now have 20 toons that are level 73+ with a whopping 10g on each of them - hope I can get at least one daily done on them before they need to repair!
