Good Morning,
Just wondering if any one boxes ffxi. It was my first love but i was never able to do anything without a group. Things have changed and im a group al by my self. I was thinking 2 computers, 3 guys on each. Does keyclone work well with ffxi? Has anyone been banned for using keyclone on ffxi?

FFXI def wont ban for multiboxing. its one game that allows you to do lots of thigns that are illegal on wow. i know someone asked about setting it up but was having issues. i commented that due to the way the game works, itd be really hard to setup thigns like key clone and have it work really well.

Actually, FFXI would be less friendly to boxing. The reason is because FFXI doesn't have an invasive detection system like WoW does to keep players legit. Instead, Square-Enix uses a CSI type of detection method - they snoop on you in-game if they're alerted that you might be doing something against the ToS. Unfortunately, FFXI's ToS is even stricter than WoW's - SE has said many times that even Windower is not allowed, which is why everyone is so hush-hush about it in-game - everyone uses it, but everyone pretends they don't. Therefore, I don't know if you'd be legit with a software multiboxing solution for FFXI. As you would be very visible in-game I think you'd be found out very quickly. You might get by if you had a full hardware setup though, but you'd inevitably have to duke it out with the GM squad to try to convince them you're legit.
That said, if things changed to make it more friendly to boxing I'd love to play my own full party in that game. I'd never pay to play again, much less pay for 6 accounts; I think they should move to a free to play cash shop model.

I've multiboxed FFXI quite a bit, and it's awesome. I did 1 character per PC though so I'm not sure which application will work well for you. It should be fine and I didn't have any issues with Square.
The nice thing about the game is that multiboxing melee is totally doable and fun since when you assist and attack they can auto run to the targeted enemy and stick on them.
Some of the BEST combo's you can utilize are Dragoons, they stack INSANELY well. I played with 3 and it was ridiculous with the Wyvern heal. Each one would heal for 300+ at 5 mp per cast, and with any type of mana regen it's unlimited, the heals are spread out between each wyvern so they never pull aggro.
A ton of Black Mages and a Bard is also insane. ugh I'd go back to the game if I didn't love WoW so much :)

Has anyone used keyclone on FFxi? Does it work Alt tabbing and ctrl tabbing?

I attempted to do what you're trying a few months back with no success. FFXI needs to be in the foreground to enter the commands, for some reason the text will be input to all the windows. I tried using the lock to foreground option in innerspace but since the playonline viewer gets messed with regularly it caused crashes. There's a lock to foreground feature on keyclone, but it doesn't work correctly. In other words you have to switch windows manually which means there's no real use for keyclone.

Sigh....Its really not meant to be with me and ffxi :S . Wonderhow far i can progress with just 3 guys and switching screens. I probably play around with keyclone and ff after i get bored with wow. I usually get bored after 6 months and play something esle for a while.

There's a program on the windower site called Dual Send, it allows you perform commands to other windows using a //name /command format but lacks functionality. It does remove some alt-tabbing though which is helpful. I noticed this foreground problem in LotrO and Eq2, so there's a chance someone will find a way to make it work.

I've considered it. Still having trouble getting past the initial theory craft stage, and a moderate questioning of what the goals to such a matter would be. Come to think of it, I seem to recall windower not working well on Vista, and the plethora of other development issues the game has.

There's quite a few players hinging on this one problem so if you manage to pull it off kudos to you. Everything else can be found in other applications. I did look into VMware for FFXI boxing a while back but it took too much hard drive space for me to give it a whirl. I also read that VMware's video memory is limited to 128mb which may or may not be acceptable for secondary and tertiary applications since FFXI is an older game (the boxers using VMware were with the LotrO crowd).
