Stupid DS

Any of you guys have a nintendo DS?

Man, my wife wanted one for Christmas, ive never played it before... so I get it for her (we are going to be flying this weekend so I let her have it early) and she got a couple games and stuff. So im at the store looking at games with her, and i start seeing all these Final Fantasy games. Damnit!! So I get Final Fantasy Tactics A2, because FFT for Playstation was badass... so Im sitting there last night in front of my high powered laptop, on which I could be five boxing WoW, and instead im playing FFT2A on a little 2x2 screen on this DS lol.

Stupid thing.

FFT is one of my favorite games ever. How does FFTA2 compare?

Ive only just started, but it seems like story is dialed down and the battles are dialed up.

You're a kid in what I assume is the "real world" and then you get sucked into Ivalice, so already not the best story lol... then you kind of just fall in with these warriors and go from there.

The graphics are amazing for what its being played on though, I cant believe it. I think it looks as good as or better than the original playstation version haha.

The job system and items, etc look just as deep and gameplay (the grids) looks pretty similar to the original.

Also has kind of an interesting feature called judging where... there are these judges that watch your battles and give you certain rules. If you beat the battle without breaking the rules, then you get bonus items. For example, one battle said I couldnt use any items. Another said no using ice attacks. Though I read that one problem is when "guest" characters are with your group (you cant control them), they dont heed the rules and can screw you over. At any rate.

it looks to be a fun diversion, wtih the same FFT gameplay, but I wouldnt get it looking to get some deep story.
