Any reason on 6 boxing as opposed to 5, since 5 is the group cap currently in Wow. Unless your playing a different game.

Nope, i'm playing Wow, just thought i would try it, trying to see how far i can go with it, and all you have to do is make a raid group, that just means mass grinding, since thats all you can do, quests cannot be done in raid..But yeah..

I was wondering the same thing. EQ group sizes are 6 right?

Even grinding though , you cannot do any instances with that setup, and raid type instances only start at 60.
You take a pretty massive XP hit in a raid.
Plus you can't do MOST instances.
Can't easily share quests.
Can't easily heal across groups.
I am all for challenges but why exactly? It would probably be faster to level up 1 set of 70s and then a solo 70. I don't see any major upsides either.

Yeah, you do get WAY less XP when you're in a raid group.
Also, the marginal utility of a 6th member is so low, considering the downsides.
Even playing in PvP @ 70 would not work well due to above and other reasons. So, I don't get it.

The only way a 6th toon would be usefull is if the main 5 were as a group, and the 6th was a high lvl alt that can heal/buff and just follows them around doing that... Raids are useless to lvl up, as you say you can't quest, you get massive XP reductions for kills and can't do most instances (although even DeadMines has a 10man limit iirc)
edit: I know it used to be, but Wowwiki now lists it as 5, so guess it was changed at some point. The first instance you can run with 6-10 is LBRS/UBRS which is 50+

I always thought you could raid instances for loot but couldn't do quests.

You used to be able to, but they've since changed it quite a while ago so that it's capped for the intended amount of players.

I tested RFC and SM yesterday and it let me in ok with 6 players in a raid.
