View Full Version : Keybindings getting messed when I switch between solo play and multiboxing.

Hello, ever since 3.0 (afaik) the keybindings got saved server side which has messed up my Shaman between 2 clients, one I use for playing solo/raiding with shaman, and another low-res client I have the shaman as a slave following my warrior/paladin main.

In the main client I have keybindings such as 1-6 for all the healing spells and earthshield, on the clone client I have those keys unbinded so the shaman isn't casting random crap when I'm using warrior abilities on keys 1-6 in the main client. Adding 1-6 for example to the do not pass list isn't an option because I use keys such as Alt-1, Alt-2 to get the shaman to heal the focus target which is my warrior.

Hope you are still following me, now the problem is this: Setting keybindings in the main client makes it apply to the clone client as well because of bindings being saved server side, if I want to switch between solo play on shaman or multiboxing I have to re-do the keybindings every single time and it has put me off from doing any multiboxing as I was getting tired of it, it wasn't just 6 keybindings it was about 20 or more. Is there any way at all to stop the server saving my bindings? as I'm quite happy having it saved locally as I run two seperate wow folders.

You can use macaroon to manage your buttons and keybindings and save them under different profiles.

You can also search the addons/macros folder for a post I made on how to force WoW to store keybindings, macros, and UI settings (any or all) client-side. I use a mod called ActionBarSaver to swap buttons around as well, although tbh macaroon sounds better, especially if profiles saves keybindings.

ooh thanks, new in 3.03 - ability to DISABLE server storing of macros/keybindings ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=16060') worked very well!

I wasn't sure if Macaroon would solve my issue, or if I was willing to drop Dominos for that, but this one is how I wanted it. Mmultiboxing bindings I set on the clone client with the applied console lines is no longer conflicting with my solo UI bindings on the main client \o/
