Vehicle Mount Issues: This is slated to be changed in an upcoming patch (not 3.0.8). All new mounts that currently function like vehicles will be changed to function like other standard mounts. This includes the flying carpet.
Should solve a few things.

Well, vehicles mounts is not ordinary vehicles? I mean, will vehicles that we use in quests, also work like mounts? I doubt :-)

They don't specifically mention /followdream killer

Last night I made 5 catapults and used a combo of autorun and fast screen hopping to get them to the keep. what a pain! It was fun when i got there though. Had I encountered resistance otw there, it might not have been as fun. Also I wish one of the bigger vehicles had room for 5 8(
But IF you can /follow in them! ( after patch )WoW..fun fun fun!

You guys are reading this wrong imo -- all they are talking about is the flying carpet and mechanohog and perhaps some of the mammoths, which are mounts but work as vehicles. Instead they will be changed to regular mounts.

The stuff for dailies and quests that are vehicles don't sound like they will change at all. Remember, those things give a possession bar whereas stuff like the flying carpet and mechanohog don't.

I was going to completely avoid it because it seemed like too much of a hassle as a vehicle... but if works like a reg mount then that would be cool :P

You all realize, taken in context. the blue is referring to MOUNTS. not necessarily the quest vehicles. Magic carpets, Mammoths, Chopper...

after reading a bit more, it's still kind of unclear....
As we mentioned yesterday, in an upcoming patch -- possibly 3.1 -- all vehicle-style mounts are being changed to behave like normal mounts. http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=7289969498&sid=1

"all vehicle-style mounts" kind of makes me think they're changing all vehicles... i mean technically tanks are a kind of mount right? There may be a glimmer of hope, just don't get 'em up too high til we get a better worded response from a blue :P

edit: after reading a few more posts it looks like they're only changing the mounts that you can actually get in your mounts tab... otherwise they probably would have said something specifically about tanks, etc

not sure about this .. to me it sounds like personal mounts (flying carpet) will function like regular mounts (it was classified as vehicle).. but vehicles will still stay as 'vehicles'..

yea, after re-reading it.. I'm 98.899% sure they mean player owned mounts only. BUT if they can change those, why not all? ehh? A tad bit of unrealistic hope!

Sooo easy to debunk.

Santa Clause?
Easter Bunny?
Tooth Fairy?

Insert 10,000,000 other childhood "hopes and dreams" here that never come true.

It's a proverb. That's like trying to debunk an idiom - it makes no sense, as you cannot debunk a thing which makes no claims of fact to begin with.

Also, I think there are a few differences between hoping something turns out well and knowingly telling little children a yarn to give them fantastical ideas. Further, all of those you named are metaphors for something else anyway - the story can be relevant even if the entity does not exist.

unfortunately, in blizz's world, having a large number of people who hope/want something to happen doesn't make that something actually happen.Indeed. If only WoW were designed by a massive committee of players rather than a group of professional game developers, it would surely be the most successful MMO ever!

Well I for one am happy. I'm a tailor on my main, and the magic carpet is lame the way it is - so yay.
