Well I have to say that when it comes to customer service WoW is better then anyone.

I sent a email explaining my RAF disaster and they were very very accommodating by quickly moving my 26 guys to my new accounts and giving me 131 days credit on each account from the time that was left over on my old accounts! (I bought 6 months).

Basically I got more then I even thought to ask for.

Hats off to Justin and the Customer Service Crew at WoW for a job well done!

Just have to find and replace 26 names in only two programs actually. One macro express macro and one word macro. Already fixed the keyclone ini file.

When I wrote my programs I wrote them with having to update in mind heh... Still its about 6 hours of work.

The transfers are done, waiting on a GM to flag 8 of my guys for name changes so that I can move the professions guys to be group leaders.

Slow but sure. Did you know that the first big time internet search engine was Alta-Vista and not Google?

Hmm, as an Activision Shareholder I am not pleased at this treatment given to Sam, he was going to pay anyways so Blizzard should have just taken his money and run!

:) j/k hope it works out

The funny thing about this whole Sam situation is that he could have just bout 13 new copies and did 13 transfers and all 26 accounts could have still been linked. I guess Justin didn't figure that out.... or did he and figured it was in Blizz's best interest to takes Sam's money?

I'm glad you had a good experience. My was craptacular. (though I 'only' own seven accounts)...

When I had a discrepancy that was preventing me from chaining recruit a friend in ANY way, they refused to go into it, refused to provide any clarity, and did little more than forward me cut-and-paste emails.

Justin must be new, and therefore still have a soul and is trying to make a difference.

I would rather get on the blower with some jamoke in beautiful Mumbai India, that works tangentially for my utility company than talk to a WOW CSR any day.

Sam, that's great, man. I think Blizz does a pretty good job for everyone, but we multi-boxers ARE some of their best clients - doing a good job for me is like making 10 customers happy. But that phone call/customer service encounter is worth 26 calls when they are dealing with you!

BTW, I saw another post of yours about a seemingly odd grinding approach to getting 26 toons up to 80. I'll offer up my experience as an alternate methodology - take it for what it is worth.

Basically, I've been 5-boxing alliance for a while. When RAF came out, I got another 4 accounts set up wth RAF, started from scratch on a new server (Mag - Horde), and started playing. I got my first team of 5 to 70 questing, then took the 70 pally from that team and PLed 5 other teams of 4 up in SM cath and stratholme. I used a tiered gifting approach to ensure gifts were maxed out, and had 5 level 70s and 19 level 60s in a couple months of starting on Mag. Since then, I've started bringing the teams up 5 at a time. After another 1.5 months I have:
Team 1 at 77
Team 2 at 75
Team 3 at 72
Team 4 at 68
Team 5 at 66

I'm only planning on 10-boxing, not 25, but I figure it will be nice to have subs if they are needed. All my teams are mixed with a total of 5 shammies, 4 pallies, 4 hunters, 4 locks, 3 druids, 2 priests, 1 mage, and 1 warrior. All have talbuk mounts, but only three have professions over 300.

I have a full time job and a wife, am out of town on travel about 30% of that time (no playing at all), so it's not like I play all the time, though it is definitely my biggest time sink when I'm home.

All that is to say I think you might have more luck 5-manning your teams up like I did. I'd be impressed (and amazed) if you could get anything close to that put together for your 26 in 3 or 4 months by using a grinding method.

Heck, I'd like to see you get up to 80 as fast as possible, because I for one would love to see someone 25-man raid solo. Anyway, best of luck with whatever methodology you settle on.

make sure you send in CS feedback for Justin. That way they know who they can let go this holiday since he clearly isn't aboard the "normal" CSR train. Maybe he will come around when he learns the cake is a lie.

I would like the ability to link accounts for an extra $2 a month. And not worry about all this 90 day time limit and character transfers.

Must have been WoW Europe or something...

and the very first web crawler search engine was Aliweb (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_search_engine) [I had to look it up, never heard of it..I would have guessed Lycos].

Its definitely the number of accounts, I called about doing a flub on one account that didn't get RAF'd and the first jerkoff i got on the phone started questioning my motives for having so many accounts(questioning your paying customers? what the hell crack was he smoking) and trying to tell me I was doing something wrong and blah blah blah exploiting the RAF program for unintended usage and their was nothing he could do but have me send in the copy i had for replacement...

Thankfully after i got off the phone with that jerkoff another hour long wait on hold another girl i talked to basically told me agian their was nothing she could do... BUT actually had a good idea and that was to just return the copy to my gamestop and get a new one (I would never think they would take a opened mmo game back to exchange for a new copy ever...) but they did..

You would think though even with 5 accounts they would be willing to do some simple work for the people paying their salaries.. much less someone running 26 guys like yourself :D

I think my move was that I didnt call but sent a email so they could have a while to consider it all and discuss with others in their department.

Yes atleast if you email you know the person who deals with it has the intelligence to read. They can also pass an email around so that it gets to the right person to deal with your particular case. If you phone and put pressure on them they will just fob you off because they dont have a clue what they are doing.
