Finally, at 74/75 I'm getting through UK (normal) very easy and very fast, but I've yet to kill Ingvar. This morning on the first try, I got him to about 5% on the second phase when my DK died, and he did something that effectively one shot all 4 of my shaman. Tried again, and got him to about 50% and my DK died, and once again he one shotted my shaman. I'm tanking him facing away from the shaman, but they still seem to be taking a ton of damage. What's the strategy for a DK/shaman group? I'm starting to really feel like a noob that I can't kill him at 75.

Don't feel bad. My shamans are at level 77 and I can kill everything but that last boss. I do need to work on my healing macros a bit but holy crap this guy is hard to finish. I would think a Prot pally is needed for him for the most part. I'll get him but it may be level 78 when I can get a tad tougher and have some new improved blue gear. what a PITA!

Is he the last boss of UK? He has two basic abilities, in regular and undead form.

1. He does a smash ability (forward cleave). its on a 2-3 second cast bar, and when he starts casting it he will not move. The key here is for the tank to NOT BE IN FRONT OF HIM. Most people have their tank just run right "through" him so they are behind him, as soon as he is done smashing he will flip around and continue as normal.

2. He has a roar ability (100 yard aoe). It again is on a 2-3 second cast timer. If anyone is casting a spell by the time he finishes roaring, they take massive damage and are silenced for a few seconds. He still does some AoE damage from the roar, no matter what, but you take a LOT MORE if you are casting. The solution is simple, as soon as he starts casting roar everyone jump (to cancel any current casts) and you just sit still until its over -- everyone, including tank.

The tricky part of this fight is really just not confusing the two abilities, and making sure you have enemy cast bars turned on so you can see exactly whats going on. You gotta move the tank away from the boss when he smashes, and you gotta jump, abort all casts, and stand still when he roars. If you do these two things, its a very easy fight.

Thanks all. Puppychow, yours probably will help the most. I couldn't figure out why my shaman were instantly dropping to 1/2 health and I guess it was that roar. I just have them spamming LB/CL and now flame shock and lava burst (holy crap that spell combo wtfpwns!). Now I know to stop when he's about to roar. Thanks again.

I'm lazy on this guy, I dont even bother making my shaman jump to cancel spell casting when he roars. My tank can handle a long time with no heals on this weeny

Nevermind the fact that theres already about 20 threads in this subforum on exactly how to do the last boss, not to mention every other website with hints on this boss says exactly what puppychow said. Theres probably 4 other threads right on the main page of this subforum detailing exactly how to kill the boss. :)

If you have a tank you should be able to kill him at level 70. Its not difficult to avoid all of the bosses attacks, you just have to have something that shows his cast bar (which everyone should have by now, especially if you're playing any sort of tank). Without a tank I'm sure its much more difficult though.

Word. Tried the final boss a couple times with my all-shammy team at 72-73 and it wasn't pretty.

Just got my DK up to 72 last night, brought him in with 4 of the shammies. Easy sauce.

Real tank = win.

I couldnt get him down until i hit 75 and got lava burst. that spell alone helps so much, i highly recommend getting this http://www.wowhead.com/?item=38361 which can be bought after doing 1 session of dailies in venture bay in grizzly hills. plus theres a glyph that gives lava burst an extra 10% bonus from your spellpower. im hitting 7k lava bursts in mostly blues..

LvB is about 20ish% of your dps, working on equipment to maximize only LvB seems kinda silly to me. Not that there are much better totems out there =/

edit: Giz is this your shaman? udderdeath ('http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Azgalor&n=Udderdeath')? If so you are hurting badly for hit rating. Hit is almost worth 2 times spell power for elemental shaman. Since I critiqued your shaman I guess I better provide mine so it's fair. 1) Face him AWAY from the group AT ALL TIMES.
2) Get enemy cast bars up so you can see when they cast.

He'll start casting a "shockwave" type spell. The icon looks like the icon used for a warriors "cleave" ability. When he starts casting this, RUN THROUGH HIM to get behind him. It hits for like 20k or some crap. But he won't change directions when he starts casting.

As soon as he's done, pick him back up. and face away from group again. :)

Lil addition, in phase one the ability is names Smash and phase two Dark Smash. Another little note. You have to move royally behind him. Not just an inch. Get behind him, and move a step further to be sure. :P
