When can i enter my team into Strat, 40 or 45? Im using a 70 mage to boost them up. Just dinged 40 in SM, and I plan to get the SM quests done now before leaving. Is it worth it to hit ZF from 40-45?
Thanks

I'd do at least 2 ZF runs, 1 for the quests and 1 because its going to be decent XP. The quests give a ton of XP and there almost all in Tanaris. 1 in 1k needles @ mirage raceway for the carrot on a stick, and 1 in dustwallow.
BRD is a pain in the ass. but its great if you get all the quests.

Yea do zf first i started zf at lvl 37. With my 70 druid boosting them i still managed two lvls a run till about 45 then got like a level and a half. Was going to hit st last night but hit a friggin snag instances went down no friggin fair lol.

If its about xp/played - then my advice is to SKIP ZF. (especially if you haven't boosted in ZF before).
I run SM Cath until 45 and then go straight to Strat. I use a 70 paladin though. Much faster for me in the long run. I clear with the pally and the boostees can be a good ways away so they dont get agro. When I used to try ZF between SM and strat I was always getting lower xp/played. Running them over there - that damn Hex (i know, I know you can back up to avoid - only works best on small pulls) etc., caused slower xp/played overall.
You see your xp/hr (and xp/played) start to decline from 40-45 in Cathedral but not as much as going to ZF and then back to Strat. (not xp/hr when you reset it once you get to zf but actual xp/played time).
Anyway - I dont do ZF anymore. might be different with a mage but I think if you try one group and pay attention to xp/played you will see it drop faster trying to get everyone to zf and do those quests etc. than if you just stay at Cath until 45 and then straight to Strat.
Standard wisdom though is SM -> ZF -> Strat.
- I don't know why you would goto ZF at 37 (at least go from SM catherdral) because my xp/hr continues to increase until I hit level 40 on my boostees.
PS - one last thing before everyone argues with me - I'm talking XP/played so it includes travel and wipes while trying to learn Zf and learn Hex distancing etc.
I always leave SM at 35 and go to ZF until at least 45 then start questing in Hinterlands. You really want to do the quests. The XP is at least as good, and you get a little bit of gear so that your all your alts aren't naked when they get to Outland.

As for quests, unless you care about achievements, I see no point in doing them. We're boosting because it's faster. As for gear, you can spend 100g (you can get this just looting the blues from the boosting) on full TBC greens for your guy and have better gear than from any quests you could possibly do in classic.

I'm borderline insane from it.
