Hi everyone,

i have a big problem since 3.0.x is out ( i play in china so we dont have yet WOTLK ) i cant play anymore with my quadbox familly... it's too laggy and i cant connect my 4 Shaman at the same time or i'm disconnected.

my configuration is AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual core 4800 + 2.5 Ghz with 2 Giga ram with a video card GEFORCE 8600 GT 256 MB and windows xp .

Before (2.4.3) it was a little bit laggy the first 5 minutes but after it was ok battleground or quest it was the same. but now the game looks more beautiful and i try to down everything in the game like config video everything is low. try to put everything in the setup of my video card to high performance or application-controlled but nothing changed.

if someone have the same problem or a solution can you tell me please.

P.S : my english is not so good so excuse me in advance for that i really hope you'll understand what i mean :D .

thank you

Asuma

Go to graphic settings and lower shadow quality to minimum. This should solve a big part of your problem.

drop the resolution down to like 800x600 as well.

yep sorry i should tell this also before the resolution and the shadow quality are already to the minimum only the view distance and the spell detail are in the maximum

What Tizer is saying, View distance is THE biggest fps drop out of all settings.

What I do is put it minimum on my alts and half in dalaran/max elsewhere for my main.

I also have spell detail on half on all chars, it's enough to see all spell details for pve purposes, whilest not being overly laggy when in raids and such.

Upgrade to 4 GB ram and ull see big advantages. I changed from 4 gb to 8 gb and still big performence ++++ ( for >4GB u need Vista 64 bit ).
I dont know how many gamefolders u have, but less gamefolders can help as well - for example one folder for your main and one folder for ur 3 toons. (my english sucks probably more ;))

I have ALL my settings set at their lowest. I watched someone's video of running through an instance yesterday and almost cried. ;(
Some day I will see this game without a gray fog on everything!!!

Frosty, what's yout maxfpsbk set to?

I've found that 8 is minimal to still be able to follow on epic flyers. Should severaly increase performance and you can then tune up settings on your main. :P On my laptop I run maxfps 20 and bk on 8 :p

Yer main problems is memory when yeh get wotlk its gonna get worse.

from the starter area to the normal-outlands-northrend require progressively more memory

go to start-control panel-system under the advanced tab- performance- settings click on adjust for best performance and hit apply

another thing yeh can do is stop a bunch of the services that are running that arent needed but yer gonna have to the some research to find out what yer can stop and what yeh cant.
This frees up some memory and cpu cycles.

another thing is start-all programs-startup and remove whats there.
