I am looking for a way to create or modify a bar to allow control while mounted in a vehicle. This is up to and including a button to exit the vehicle. I believe that i don't have the technical education to understand some of what was written(vyndree's post and blog as well as the FAQ from Maul's wowinterface site), however. I have been able to create a possession bar and have it function in one circumstance. It did not however pick up the exit vehicle button. If i had not had the Blizzard Bar turned on(a precautionary measure), i would have been stuck. I can get as far as creating the buttons-or the place holders for future information. but that's it. Could someone please explain to me in macro ignorant language how to make a fully functional bar?

Second, when completed, i would like to know if there is a way to test this new bar to ensure everything is working correctly. How may i test it?

If you can make the possession bar with 6 buttons thats all you need.

To get the exit vehicle to work you can just go into your keybindings and bind a key to do that action. Youll just need to make sure that maccarron isnt using that key for anything else. Best way to do that is go /mac bind select an unbinding icon, bind it to the key you want, then hit esc to clear it. This is what i do. I use numpad + to exit the vehicles.

I use the pet unitframe - right click and dismiss or leave.

Had some troubles with this aswell but since i stay away from fighting in vehicles i didnt run into problems before i meet the last boss in drak'thalon.. (the one that turns you into a skeleton)

So is the "Possession" the same numbers you get in drak'thalon?

I understand about key binding, but in this case, to what? In the one case where this bar has worked i showed a button to pick up x, a button to release x, and a button for increased speed. the button allowing me to exit the vehicle did not show up. I do see in the wow interface an option for leaving the vehicle. I have just created the binding there, but have not tested it yet.

I had thought that I might create a macro on one of the buttons to do specifically this, but I don't know if making that one button a macro will affect the rest of the buttons on that bar and more to the point I do not know what command to put into the macro to make it work. I had read that typing /exit vehicle in the command line would work, but when i tried it, I was exited from the game completely.

Is there a way to test any of this?

hit esc or click the computer on the microbar for the game menu. In the game menu click 'key bindings' and scroll down to 'Vehicle Controls' and the first option is "Exit Vehicle" - I think numpad 5 is default - make it whatever you want and then use that to exit a vehicle.
