running 1 wow, works fine. but when i run 2 crashes to reboot.

has anyone ever encountered this problem? if so what piece of hardware caused the problem? i already changed out my RAM to corsair im starting to believe its either my MB or psu.

So when you run a second copy your PC just reboots?

Windows XP defaults to rebooting for a lot of crashes, but you can re-enable the "blue screen of death" instead, which may give more detailed information allowing you to home in on the problem.

Right-click "My Computer" -> properties -> advanced -> startup and recovery -> uncheck "automatically restart".

(not sure about other flavours of Windows).

Next time you get the problem you'll probably see the blue screen instead of just a reboot - something near the top in amongst all the tech gobbeldy-gook might give a clue as to the problem area - seeing that you've replaced RAM I'd suspect graphics card/drivers, or maybe motherboard.

could be conflicting drivers. try running your single wow and do this:

go to options/video/resolution and make sure 'windowed mode' is CHECKED
go to options/sound and make sure 'sound in background' is UNCHECKED
go to options/sound and make sure 'use hardware' is UNCHECKED

apply the changes... exit wow (this forces the settings to write to disk)

now try to restart more then one instance and see of that helps.

i have already done uncheck on reboot for windows errors, and it still jumps to the reboot

those are my default options i play on.. and it still crashes. and i just bought new memory to replace the one i bought before it.

Run a mem test, could possible be a memory issue, if loading data into faulty sections of your ram it would cause a crash.

Ozzy, I've been doing more troubleshooting on my new PC since we "talked". I noticed you have the same video card as mine...shock shock (same original Ram, Motherboard, OS, and now Video Card...and both PCs crash....hmmm). It seems there are a lot of issues with this video card running way too hot. I upgraded my case to the Antec 900, but my issue didn't change. I figured that case would be all the cooling I needed. I found some suggestions to download Rivatuner and up the video card fan speed as with our card, it seems to be set low for the noise factor. I set the fan speed up to 50%. I also underclocked the card about 12% (painful to do since I love to overclock everything I can). I ran two monitors with 3 copies of Wow for about 7 hours this morning with absolutely no issues. I wont say it's fixed it until I give it a few more days, but I wanted to give you something to try since the weekend is coming up and it's hard to have fun when the PC keeps crashing. Good Luck!
