After starting doing heroics i quickly realised that specing one shaman resto will make things WAY easier and fun not to speak of.. (i play 1 paladin and 4 shamans)

My knowledge with shaman as a healer is limited BUT ive played both a resto druid and a holy paladin alot so healing is something i know well.

I dont have x-keys so i have to work this one out with 7-8 keys..

My first idea is a cast sequence of riptide and earthshield: (do i need a reset function to make it work or does it just start over?)

/target tank
/castsequence Earth Shield,Riptide

Then 1 button for each shaman to target him and cast chain heal.

/target shaman1
/cast chain heal

1 button with healing wave on the tank, (i should use healing wave right and not lesser healing wave?)

/target tank
/cast healing wave

1 button for emergency healing the tank

/target tank
/Cast nature's swiftness
/cast healing wave

I dont want to use assist for this at all since i need all the focus i can on my tank and im pretty good at multitasking so keeping the keys under control should not be a problem.

What im worried about is if i lose out alot of the potential in riptide?

would a macro like this work better?

/target shaman1
/castsequence Riptide,chain heal

Problem is if i refreshed the riptide on my paladin and its on cooldown and the shaman will just stand there and not use chain heal right?

Any ideas to improve it?

Oh and i forgot to ask about cleanse spirit

Will he still heal if there is nothing to heal?

/target shaman1
/cast cleanse spirit
/cast chain heal

the times were i actually need to use cleanse spirit is rare since its just against curses but its a rather nice tool since some curses tends to be quite nasty!

I use buttons 1-5 (on my X7 keyboard - see My macro/UI/keyboard setup (request - LONG) ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=16775&pageNo=1') ) to heal char 1-5 - using this macro all shaman cast lesser healing wave.

I use buttons shift + 1-5 to cast resto shaman cleanse on chars 1-5.

I use button "e" to cast dps on all chars, except resto shaman who casts healing wave on tank.

I use shift + e to have all shaman cast chain heal on different targets.

I use button "m" for emergency heal:

/use 13
/use 14
/cast tidal force
/cast natures swiftness
/castsequence healing wave, riptide, chain heal, lesser healing wave

(from memory since I'm at work)

/use 13
/use 14
/cast tidal force
/cast natures swiftness
/castsequence healing wave, riptide, chain heal, lesser healing wave

This would be much more healing efficient like this:

/use 13
/use 14
/cast tidal force
/cast nature's swiftness
/castsequence healing wave,riptide,lesser healing wave,lesser healing wave

I am assuming that your resto has the LHW glyph which gives a 20% bonus to LHW on targets affected by Earth Shield. This glyph is one of the best for a resto in game, especially for dungeons. The HW takes advantage of nature's swiftness, then riptide reduces LHW to 0.9/1 sec for the next 2 LHW or HW. On top of that those LHW's get the tidal force bonus also, essentially 40%/20% crit increase.

Generally this is a "Oh Sh!t" macro and is meant for a single target. Chain heal is the least effective for single target healing out of all resto shaman spells. Granted, it does proc another tidal waves, but then you have lost another reduced LHW. If you want a CH in there, definitely put it at the end of the cast sequence as that will proc another tidal waves and set up for more LHW's

Just my thoughts

Just my thoughtsIt's mostly to take advantage of the 25% riptide bonus - often when the macro is needed, earth shield isn't up (I don't always maintain ES through combat). In reality I could reduce the macro to just NS + riptide + healing wave - more is rarely necessary, but you are right, in the rare situation where the 1-1.5 sec difference will save the tank, LHW is the better choice :-)

wow great after i switched to a healer i actually downed him quite easy when i first got the hang on it (took 3-4 wipes thought) :P

I still lack mana regen gear i guess!

I made it to the last boss and had 1 atempt on him but wiped..

Now the problem was that it pops up a new bar on that fight and im suposed to spam some keys and move out of a poison nova...

Since i use macaron i dont have 1,2,3 etc bound to the main bar anymore!

Any tips on this sine its pretty much impossible to click the mouse on all the the same time!
