View Full Version : Password issues common on Tuesdays?

So... I havent played wow much in the past few months but recently started boxing. Tuesday rolls up and I had no idea about maint or rolling restarts or anything.

I'm sitting in bed waking up surfing the net on my laptop and decide to check and see if my Scroll of res rewards have hit yet. I go to worldofwarcraft.com and try and log in, says bad login or pw. I reenter...and reenter, and then begin to panic. I try and reset via email, says invalid info. I try all my other accounts... get same deal, head to forums, same deal.

Run over to the game again and try one last time, and 2 of the 5 (one I tried and failed on the website to log into) work fine, the other 3 hang at handshaking.

So... Im assuming this is just the maint and everythings fine. My brother had his account stolen last year for a few weeks when we were playing AoC but he was informed via email instantly on his pw change and what not. I got none of those and know my email was valid as of 2 days ago.

Would be rather ironic to get "hacked" the day I get my key authenticator in the mail from blizzard...

**edit
And of course soon as I post this all 5 accounts are now letting me log in again to the game and the website... Geez... thats one hell of a way to wake up. Is this normal?

Getting stuck at handshaking is a common maintenenance issue. If the password had been stolen, you'd get a message saying you entered the wrong password and wouldn't even make it to handshaking.

The forums/website are usually slammed with people when the servers are down. Logging into the forums is definitely hit or miss.

I just tried the account management website now and it works fine for me though.

I get this. You put in your pw and it says 'wrong pw' when you are SURE you put it in correctly. Like 5 times in a row. Then you decide to try it one last time before accepting that you've been hacked, and it goes through. Has been happening to me a couple times a week, any day.

things like this happen to me randomly... i'll push my DNP button for keyclone and type in my password- 3 accounts will login but 2 don't, giving me an incorrect password message ?(

Happens to me every now and again. Usually through human error though :P

I use G15 macro's to input my passwords.
Five accounts, five different passwords.
Maximum characters, letters, symbols, numbers.
Up to 2 of the same type before switching to a different type.
Not a chance in hell of remembering it; used to copy/paste before the G15.

Well, will probably go to a simpler password in the near future.
And likely the same password for each account.
The blizzard authenticator is enough security.
