When i started out in this instance( level 68 ) it just felt impossible when i came to Ionar and i could not find any guide on how to do it, so either people find it very easy or very hard and havent bothered. (its tagged as hard on heroic so i will assume the last)

Well i came back when my paladin+4 elemental shamans hit 79 and now the instance aint hard at ALL actually. (it makes things ALOT easier when you get sacred shield so that might be worth waiting for)

I want to state that this is on normal but i will try it when i get gear for heroics and i will be happy if someone would like to try it. (it might not work since bosses have more abilties)

Instance: <Halls of Lightning>
Box: <Prot Paladin, 4x Ele shaman>
Gear level: <Paladin 500 defence,19k hp with 40% avoidance. Shamans is sitting at 1250 SP without flametoung and wrath 18% critt>
Difficulty: <Hard the first times, very easy once you got the hang on it>
Guide:

Trash:

Worth to notice is the mobs after Ionar who wirldwinds, you just have to move away and its easy to see. There is some big golems that does a "fork-lightning" that deals alot damage if you tank them too close too your group, so stay at max range. There is a room full of elementals that respawn and is immune against nature damage, i ususaly run trought it and pop concentration, fire nove,FS,LvB in the stairs. Watch out in the Halls of watchers were the statues come alive when you enter a new "square" of the room.

General Bjarngrin:

Tips: Clear the packs were he walks to get rid of that "bloodlust" buff!

One of the bosses it sucks to not be critt immune on.. He has the same stance as a warrior wich is defensive, battle and berserker stance. On defensive he takes 25% less damage and randomly spell reflect while the damage is not worth to mention. On battle stance he hits slow but tends to spike ALOT, normal hit for 4-5k then a 8k-9k mortal strike (non critt). In berserker stance he deals 25% more damage but it doesnt feel so spiked so just keep healing the tank steady. If your not critt immune you will most likley get unlucky soner or later and get a critt before or after the mortal strike here. (My tank was sitting on 16k hp when he suddenly died!) :P

Volkhan:

Tips: Cant say im 100% sure but im pretty sure some of the damage is fire so trow down a fire res totem.

He runs to his forge after a certain time and make 2 golems spawn, they tend to go for my shamans were i drop a fire nova totem then thunderstorm(after the stun is gone) One golem ususaly die near my shamans and blows up for 6-7k but its not realy a problem. The boss himself doesnt hit to hard and i just burn him down with bloodlust!

Ionar:

Tips: Nature Resistance totem helps ALOT!

This fight realy made me cry and swear in the start since its NEARLY impossible to run away when he transform into thoose sparks, if i could survive it at all and got myself healed up he already trasformed again so i never managed to dps. So why run when you got 4 healers? I decided to try something different and ran back to the hall were you meet the first air elemental pack. I splitted them and placed one in each corner (he does a small knockback so place them in a way that they wont get knocked back and still are able to heal and dps.) now run to the boss and pull him and run back to the room. Tank the boss in the middle and when he splits just heal with lesser healing waves (if you placed them right 2 shamans will always be in range to heal, you cant heal the on right ahead but 3 lesser healing waves kept my shamans alive quite easy) From the point i figured this out, i have done it 8 times without losing a singel char, funny how a so hard boss turn out to be such easy mode in the end. Heard he spawns spiders in heroic so this might not work there but it works in normal atleast.

Loken:

Tips: I cant define HOW important Nature Resistance totem is on this fight.. I suddenly found trouble in keeping my shamans above 20% while spamming chain heal, i realised i had no NR totem down so i dropped it and the rest was easy. (i didnt even have the top rank of NR totem!) Concentration aura should make the push back better but i forgot to use it actually >.<

The fight can be abit random, he has an attack wich is called Arc-Lightning:

"Arc Lightning: Shocks the target dealing 3238-3762 Nature damage and giving the target a chance to shock nearby allies (within 10 yards). Note that the when the target shocks nearby allies, they also receive the Arc Lightning debuff, meaning that this ability can "spread", plague-style, as players continually "infect" each other."

In 8 tried i wiped once and it was because it spreaded out i guess, and the damage was so insane. So if it happens just ank and try again.

I stole my tactic from wowwiki: http://www.wowwiki.com/Loken i recommend you read it to understand the fight better.

I will copy paste the heroic part wich ofc works in normal as well:

"One tactic, particularly while having a Shaman or Priest healer, is to forgo running away and simply stand atop Loken and have the group eat the Lightning Nova. While this might be tough to a group fresh to heroics, those that have gotten a few heroic gear pieces already should have the stats to withstand Lightning nova's strikes and a good AoE healer such as a Priest or Shaman should beable to heal through it if they are on top of things."

"With this strategy you do need a strong healer to survive, however your DPS will be able to steadilly work on Loken as opposed to breaking off to avoid Lightning Nova as well as negating extra damage from the ranged DoT. While it sounds odd and many will tell you "just run and don't be a noob" this strategy works suprisingly well, a good healer is all that is required."

Now what i do is i tank im right OVER my shamans, everytime i drop belowe 60% health on my shamans i chain heal and i ALWAYS start a chain heal in the last seconds of his Lightning Nova. Wich means my chain heals lands about a second after his Lightning Nova is done.. Bam im at 70-80% again! This fight is realy about healing early and mana is NOT an issue if you keep water shield up!! His Pulsing Shockwave triggers them all the time and makes the mana regen crazy! I mostly dps with thunderstorm,FS,LvB and drop fire nova totems when they are up.

I was so insecure if this was needed or not but i had problems finding a proper guide on it, and decided to help out if it was needed! Sorry if my english is lacking! :(

Thank you, because I'm thinking of running this place with my team of Pally and 4 Shammies, but couldn't find a good strat for this.

I just ran regular Halls of Lightning, followed by Heroics HoL. Regular was easymode now at 80, I tried previously at 79 and wiped a lot and couldn't down the last boss. With the tips above and mediocore gear (pally tank, mage, 3 ele shamans, everyone is in basically blues except for 1-2 pieces of titansteel) regular was a cakewalk, the last boss was definitely easier with the stack-up-and-heal strat.

Heroic was a different ballgame, did wipe a lot but did kill all the bosses except the last. And as a challenge, I did two of the achievements - I killed the first boss with the buff (30% damage buff) and the second boss without getting the golems blown up. Basically the same strats as regular, just DPS hardcore.

The third boss is same as regular, I pulled him out to the previous room and put my guys in different corners. I did wipe 3-4 times on this, you need keys to individually heal people and hope for a bit of luck so as not to get one person concentrated for the lightning ball adds or the arcane blasts. There were no extras from regular, just everything hitting way harder.

I couldn't do Loken, would get him down to 40% reliably every time but he was hitting my team way, way too hard. I do think with a bit more gear (especially PVP gear) it will be doable. Loken is also apparently the #1 killer of players at the moment according to Blizzard stats, so I wouldn't be suprised to see a small nerf in heroic mode.

Anyways great tips, I do highly recommend not trying this instance until you are 80. I found it a ton easier to run at 80 than at 78-79. heroic is actually not too bad, you may want to just skip the 3d and 4th boss though until your group is decently geared up. The first and second boss aren't too bad, especially if you have a mostly shaman team (heals+bloodlust/heroism helps a lot).

I was able to do Loken on Heroic successfully by healing through his AoE nova. Stand on top of him during the fight.

The nova hits for 10638-12363 (according to wowhead) on heroic. I did check my combat log and notice it doing ~15k dmg several times, but NR totem helped.

I had my tank use commanding shout and my shammies were just about 15k-15.6k life. Make sure you drop NR totem.

Its essentially the same as regular, except his periodic AE pulses seem to get stronger further along. You WILL need to top off everyone before his Nova hits, I would spam CH several times (just in case his periodic AE hits right before the nova).
