Howdy multiboxers,
If you take a look at my sig youll see I am currently playing a team that has, if not perfect, what id consider to be very good synergy with itself and which hits most of the relevant melee enhancing buffs.
I am interested in putting together a similar team with casters but I must admit I dont know much about casters (never played one). This is for PVE only, doing heroics and such.
Appreciate any help you can give.
Thanks.
Edit: I guess it would be less noob of me to add my thoughts. I guess a paladin tank would be nice for ease of use, multitarget tanking. Blessing of wisdom for casters cant hurt, as well as concentration aura for avoiding pushback. Do you need a dedicated healer for 5 boxing heroics? Could something like an elemental shaman or shadow priest suffice for the healer slot while still managing to DPS?

Well, as for running without a healer, I'm running a feral druid, shadowpriest and 3 demonology locks. the locks give me 3 offtanks, and the spriest gives me some passive regen, so often, all I have to do is apply my HoTs, and go to town, and hardly healing, if at all. My shadowpriest does just fine healing, thusfar. I'd say you should be able to run a good caster team without a dedicated healer.
If you are going with a tank, the druid makes a nice choice, I think. Although paladin tanking is more familiar to me.
For your DPS, I bet you'd have great luck with a shadow priest, demonology lock, elemental shaman, and either a fire mage (water, portals and int buff) or boomkin (off heals, HoTs, battlerez, aura)
with all those, you would get all the best buffs, and I'd think good synergy.

My signature has the mixed group I just started. I'm still learning how to react to things inside instances with them, but it's a ton of fun just learning how to handle this beast. I would suspect that a dedicated healer is required. I'm currently using an Unholy Deathknight for AoE tanking. He's QUITE effective, but there's a lack of synergy there with the rest of the group. I believe that's less of an issue with a Deathknight tank since Deathknights also deal out massive damage so I actually have four DPSers in the group.

My 2 cents...
I'm a self confessed noob when it comes to multiboxing instances. I'm currently 72 and struggling with the bosses in Nexus normal. I can easily get through the trash, but the bosses I can only get down to about 30%. Granted, I need to adapt, like bind strafe keys for my slaves, get +def gear for my warrior, etc.
With my current setup, in Nexus, I find that I am spamming Flash Heal on my Holy Priest almost as much as I spam dps (for 3x trash beating on my tank as well as bosses).
I'm sure my gear has a lot to do with it; but my advice would be a dedicated healer for 5 mans. (Note I've not had much experience.)
Although, I think have seen posts where a 1 paladin + 4 shaman group seen to be able to instance just fine. I'm not sure if one of those shaman is spec'd as a dedicated healer or not.
