View Full Version : Extra 10% Exp... Another boost for your new teams!

If you already have a team capable of getting Stone Keeper's Shard or Emblem of Heroism... Dont forget that some items you can buy (Weapons/Shoulders) are bind to ACCOUNT. The shoulders give you 10% more exp per kill. And these items scale from 1-80 dependant upon level. The items scale as blues of the equivalent level, except the grant of extra exp :)

Thought this might be useful for some of you.

What is needed to complete the quest? (I'm at work or else I would look it up)

It's not a quest - you loot the shards off northrend bosses - each boss has 4 in heroics, 3 in level 80 instances and 1-2 in level 70-79 instances (I think it's 1 until you get to the level 75+ instances). The shoulders cost 200 shards and are bought in Winterspring.

Edit: They do apparently stack with rested xp.

The stone keeper's shards are similar to spirit shards, your faction must hold Wintergrasp and then they will drop from bosses, similar to spirit shards dropping from Auchindon bosses when your faction held the towers in Terrokar.

Hey can you link what items you're talking about?

I could see myself farming these instances on my 75 (well, 76 now) druids to get them.

The shoulders cost 200 shards each. You would probably be around level 78-79 by the time you have them all - assuming your faction controls winterspring most of the time (they only drop when your faction has control).

I really want to know, does anyone know if the 10% exp gain stacks with the triple exp gain of RAF?

Or is it like a poor man's RAF?

I think the most significant use is post-60 anyway. It stacks with rested xp, but then again, rested xp doesn't stack with RAF and even if it did, it wouldn't have a really significant impact on levelling time since RAF makes 1-60 a 2-day job with 5 chars, while 60-80 is another story completely. They're very nice for post-60 IMO :-)

this is def one of the best thigns blizzard has done for people with many, many alts. spend the time gettin shards/emblems for a full set and never have to hunt/waste money of regearing yoru chars every few lvls or so. i give bliz one gold star.

Also worth noting that the 40 emblem versions are move PvE oriented, so should be better tank/dps/heal/whatever. The stonekeeper shard ones waste some of the itemization in resilience.

This will not stack with RAF, as most of you know RAF stacks with nothing, not even rested, RAF is a experience set up by itself, but if you do have these on, it should stack with rested and/or group.

The heirloom stuff is pretty nice.

I RAF levelled a pally from 20 to 60 over the weekend and having +10% XP shoulders and a Bloodied Arcanite Reaper that scaled with my level was very nice. They'll get handed to my Death Knight when I decide to level that, and eventually a warrior.

I bought them with Emblems of Heroism from vendors in Dalaran.

Oh, and the +10% XP did stack with RAF XP bonus. As soon as the pally equipped the shoulders he started moving ahead of the accompanying mage on XP.

Can someone else confirm whether this stacks with RAF bonus ?

I wish they were bind on account owner so I could get one on my main and send it to another of my accounts/servers without paying $25

How do you transfer it to another character? I might push my 71 team to get em so I can lvl my other 9 teams...

If nobody has mentioned it buy the cloth shoulders and you can use it for every character you make on that account in the future.

just remember Ozbert, the items are item lvl 1, so you cant use runes on them (for your DK) so might wanna skip him :)
