I have read reports on Brock before but this one is a tad bit longer than the others. I am on page 2 of 7 and I intend to finish it.

There may be more millionaires playing WoW than you know about :)

PS: I know Brock Pierce personally. He is one of the most intelligent people I've met and is really a nice guy. I remember this time recently when were we to lunch at a Panera (great restaurant btw) and he asked an elderly lady if she wanted to go in front of us because she seemed to have problems standing still. My first thought was (wtf letting somebody cut in front of us??). Later I realized what an ass I was to think that.

While I am not a fan of IGE in general, I am a fan of business and making money, and Brock has an incredible brain for doing just that. He has a very bright future in business for sure.

You can hate the company (IGE) but you can't deny that what he built was impressive to say the least.

While I am a fan of making money it does matter how you make it...

Interesting read indeed.
Multi-boxing enabled the start of IGE. If this was slashdot, I'd tag it Whodathunkit.

Actually it is consumer need that was the start of IGE. IGE is just a facilitator here. I'm not defending them, I'm simply stating that there was/is an extreme desire for real money trades. When enough people crave something, somebody will surely start selling them it.

I played Lineage 2 back in the day and saw first hand the havok that IGE wrecked on the game itself (not just the economy). Because of that I'm sorta of anti-IGE. Its a funny story that someday may be told, but as much as I dislike IGE's effect on games, I still sold Wowhead to them :p

I said it enabled it to start, not caused it to start.

The want for stuff was always there. Through multi-boxing he started filling some of those orders, which got him his start.

Joking aside, it makes me wonder if WoW farmers multibox?

If you have unlimited labor its more efficient not to multi box ....

I read an article that many "farmers" run 10 computers to one person, all running "bots" and just one person monitoring them. This^

Farmers don't actually play the game. They bot for it, scam it, and steal it.
