This is going to be another newbish question, but i appreciate the help.

i worked on getting octopus to work, i followed the tutorial on the wiki, but i must have done something wrong and i wasnt successful. Personally i would rather run without using any software at all, and i was wondering if anyone had any relatively cheap ways to split a keyboard signal and send the same signal to just two computers without buying the Vetra Multicaster that i read about in other posts.

i was thinking about buying a ps/2 y splitter and gender changers so i could connect the one keyboard to my two PCs. I dont now if that would work though. My other option is buying an additional wireless receiver for my keyboard, but i could not find any vendors. I have managed to connect my wireless mouse to both computers, since i have a keyboard receiver and a mouse receiver. For some reason the mouse can connect to the keyboard receiver, but the keyboard cannot connect to the mouse receiver. I'm not sure why.

thanks, i really appreciate the help, ive spent a lot of time on the wiki and this website and cant seem to find an answer.

To answer your question, the keyboard interupts would interfere if you tried 1 keyboard to 2 PC's. I haven't tried this with a modern keyboard but when I tried this a while ago it did not work.

If you want a free/cheap solution I would suggest you stick with Octopus. It really does so much more than just your keyboard input that once you get it setup you'll wonder how you got along without it. What kind of setup are you going for? Others may be able to assist you with config with a little more info.
