Hello Everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself. The guides have been most helpful and I have successfully leveled a 3 shaman / 1 pally team to 5-10. Sadly two of them got stuck behind and it took a bit to notice it at first - I'll need to grab the addon I saw mentioned so I can see if everyone is following. I believe it was called multibox? Anywho..I've observed the following things which may help other single computer multi boxers out there. It seems vital to have multiple wow folders spread across hard drives. My CPU hits 100% and gets a bit of hardware lag when trying to run all 5 WOW instances from my SATA drive. After copying two folders and running two instances on a seperate drive I'm having much better luck. Infact - I havnt had any problems at all with the system even though it is running at 85% CPU and 50% memory usage. System specs are below to those that are interested. Additionally it seems virtually impossible to run more than one instance with high graphics settings without a true super computer. My machine is running as stated above with four instances on low and a single instance on high settings.
Mainly my questions revolve arround the accepting of quests and turning in quests. Is there an easier way to do this rather than clicking on all five toons? I've found a macro that can be used to accept quests, trade, party invites etc which seems to work well but does nothing for turning quests in. I still have to click on each instance and turn quests in individually. I may be missing a line in my invite accept macro...the Accept / Decline prompt does not go away even after all of my characters have joined the group. It seems I have to click on accept for the prompt to close. Is there a specific line requred to close this dialog box?
I've been dual boxing a mage and a rogue in two windows - simply alt + tabbing between the two - for about a year and a half now. I popped up to three boxes about three days ago and decided to simply jump up to 5 after enjoying it so much. I am a bit indecisive with party makeup however. I would like to be able to solo the 5 man heroics eventually with my team though PVP is enticing and would likely act as a form of entertainment occasionally. The shamans have been interesting thus far though I have never played the class before. Five mages seems to be heavily pvp focused and would lack the ability to tank or heal for heroic fights. I'm currently running 3 shamans, a pally, and my 72 mage which will be a part of the team. Is this viable for end game content? I''ve never been one for tank classes - but the pally seems to have very few abilities to hold agro. Then again...its level 8 >.<
Any thoughts or ideas are most appreciated! Thank you once again for all of the information you have assembled on this site - It has proved most useful in getting me up and limping around to the point where I can play and actively kill things with 5 instances of wow :)
Oh...and just as a note when initially setting up it helped me alot to copy my bindings and macro cache between my wow folders / accounts. This made it so I didnt have to create them over and over :)
