Was a good run, good times, but it's lost it's touch. Disappointing too, since I've never seen better handling by a dev team before. The game was just released too early. Should have waited until it was polished, but yah, EA... Anyways, back to multiboxing WoW. Think I'll start with my 70 rogue-restodruid combo to 80 and get a feel for the game again.

wouldn't it be funny if EA was conspiring to make mmos suck to keep market balance at a status quo?

i think youre thinkin of hellgate london...that game failed...and hard. i havent played TR in a couple weeks due to WotLK, but i dont think it went down...if guild wars is still up, im very confident TR is still running.
edit: i checked it out online just to see and it seems it did go under. sad really, it was a decent game imo.

Looks like it's still running according to their website.

I played it, I liked it a lot, but I didn't have time for it with all my dualboxing wow stuff going on.
edit: ok nm. I guess they don't feel like it's important to update their website...

idk...might have just been the eu servers that went down (cause their page shows the announcement that it was being pulled). oh well...im not gonna spend 15 bucks just to see if its up even though im not gonna play it.
I'm afraid Tabula Rasa is dead but you still have a couple of months whilst the corpse cools as the servers don't close until Feb 28th 2009.

To the Tabula Rasa Community,Last November we launched what we hoped would be a ground breaking sci-fi MMO. In many ways, we think we've achieved that goal. Tabula Rasa has some unique features that make it fun and very different from every other MMO out there. Unfortunately, the fact is that the game hasn't performed as expected. The development team has worked hard to improve the game since launch, but the game never achieved the player population we hoped for.
So it is with regret that we must announce that Tabula Rasa will end live service on February 28, 2009.
Before we end the service, we'll make Tabula Rasa servers free to play starting on January 10, 2009.
We can assure you that through the next couple of months we'll be doing some really fun things in Tabula Rasa, and we plan to make staying on a little longer worth your while. For more details about what we are doing for Tabula Rasa players, please click here ('http://www.rgtr.com/news/latest_news/information_for_our_subscriber.html').
Stay tuned for more information. We thank you for your loyal support of the game and encourage you to take us up on the benefits we're offering Tabula Rasa players.

Darkfall in concept at least is awesome. We'll see how well they do on execution.

Someone ought to make a game designed for multiboxing. Where you could have several chars on one account and play them at the same time and where the game was designed for it. And no, I don't mean D&D type games, but a "standard" mmo, without the multibox limitations of games such as WoW and WAR :)
Yeah would be cool to see a multiboxing-type mmo game. Closest I saw was a korean game but you controlled a party.

but i think half of what makes multiboxing cool is that it isn't the norm, that you are doing multiple of what most people only do 1 of. It definitely would lose some of the awesome feel of it i think but it would still be fun.

Definately, if everyone was doing it then I'd not like it.

Most of them have some sort of (like Guild wars) mercenary system that allows you to hire a npc to fill in for a regular player. Sword of the new world is the only MMO that I've played so far that actually has you play a team of characters:

(Note that playing with multiple characters is about the only interesting feature of this game, so I wouldn't recommend playing this game)

The novelty of it, I couldn't care less about - if there was a multiboxing server in WoW, I'd move there and not look back :-)

It's a squad-based MMO which I tried after swearing off WoW, but I'm back to square one again, so I guess that isn't saying much... It's not a horrible game; in fact, it's one of the best subscription-free games I've yet to come across, but it lacks the polish of games such as WoW and EQ2, which, obviously, is why I'm playing WoW again.

At least I haven't been for a while, but I might check it out if I get bored with WoW - it looks like one of those free games, where you pay for ingame stuff, which I'm also not sure how I feel about, but thanks for the tip!

I think it being rare is better. A multiboxer vs a multiboxer isn't as much fun, I think.
