I'm currently running my Space goat hunters and recently hit 50 so decided to do the class quest

The Hunter's Charm ('http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=8151') simple turn in

then the fun begain.. the first quest you get is this Courser Antlers ('http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=8153') 2 perfect antlers required @ 6% drop rate (yeah right) :pinch:

the second quest .. Wavethrashing ('http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=8231') 6 wavethrasher scales (33% drop rate) which in itself is not so bad but you have the find the mobs first to kill them

finally.. the quest i'm going to run tonight to complete the quest chain The Green Drake ('http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=8232') in ST, which I know like the back of my hand after spending time there with Zolo :P

all for this little trinket Devilsaur Tooth ('http://www.wowhead.com/?item=19992')

I started this quest as soon as I hit 50 and am currently 55% through 51 - will probably be 52+ by the time ive finished the temple..

And now the Question... Have any of you other boxers running hunters gone for this quest, or did you just ignore it because collection quests are the bane of all existence?

Skipped them all.
Might going to do the lock class quest for the mount, thats it.
If it's a stupid quest, I even might consider buying normal epic mounts.

I did the quest with a solo hunter (70 now), have not decided if the other four will do it too or not, they're (4x) 53 now.. (5-box)

I did it solo with my Hunter main back in the time when I was not boxing.

Just the memory of how much time I spent to get the antlers made me skip it with my 5xhunters team.

took me about two hours for the collection part (antlers and scales) just following the same route over and over again killing mobs (castsequence hunters mark, pettattack, attack) on one button.

Huwa - the lock quest for the mount is really fun (i've done it on my main lock and for 5-6 other people) I have the mats already and will be running it with my other 4 locks as soon as my Hunters are up to 60.

If you know someone with the summoning mats you can save 250g per head on the cost of the mount.

You guys do know that you can just train for the Paladin and Warlock mounts now right? ;)

No need to do the quests.

No need to do the quests.Since I started boxing I've always skipped the class quests at 50 because its so insane to get a group for ST that knows how to run it properly, and yes, the Hunter quest is a terrible drop rate. Warlock quest chain is one of the best in the game. It's a shame that people are not forced to do it anymore. At least, people who have never seen it before anyway.

Where's the fun in that? Both are awesome quests that skipping only means you missed out on some good content.

Ahem, Hunters. Got a devilsaur tooth on all 5. Wasn't worth the effort.

I think the only one of my characters that did ST at the suggested levels was my main priest. All the other alts just leveled right past most of the Azeroth instances and ran through the portal at 58. My lock did do ST once at 70, I ran some guildies through it so they can get their quests done. For the hell of it my hunter went back to get it at 70, it's been sitting in the bank since then.

The quest is a pain in the ass but well worth it. Every lock should have their dreadsteed. Wish they had a Dreaddrake spell! Now that would look freaking awesome.

what's the rush?? i've got 6 sets of 5 to run through all the TBC content first... it's not worth me hammering to 80 and missing all the fun stuff along the way. I will be lookin at installing wrath sometime in the next 6 monhts or so..

(i have a Sixth account that is Wrath enabled, so i'm still experiencing the content)

I'm with you there.
I have 4 teams that I would like to level, two being higher on my priority list. I manage to always play in rested condition, I just switch team when one is out of blue bar. The blue bar makes an immense difference when running instances (which is my main aim and the reason why I multi-box). I have a team at 67.5 now, one at 66, one at 63, and the remaining one is still stuck at 60.

I did install WotLK though. I just went once to one of the starting zones to learn professions on the characters for which it was possible. I like the idea of being ahead of level on gathering professions when I head north : never have to run past a resource I cannot mine/herb/skin.

I did this quest when I was levelling my hunters because in BC the trinket was awesomesauce. Previously, the trinket guaranteed the next hit from your pet was a crit. This triggered Ferocious Inspiration if you were BM spec, and since FI stacked in BC, in a 5 hunter group this mean a 15% damage increase.

Now the trinket is hardly worth getting...

Cheers,

S.

That was a horrid, horrid quest. I did it with a couple of solo hunters pre-BC but (happily) eschewed it with my hunter team. Simply not worth the effort unless you're bored out of your mind or have a fetish for Azshara.

The hunter trinket, the one that gives +200 AP for pet is one I still use for my two hunters even at 80. Only for solo pve and it swaps in via trinketmenu while using other trinkets as much as possible.
