i've hated every guest that asks me to mount something. They eliminated focus and follow and assist for these quests and I really don't see how they improved the game by doing it?
Sometimes you can use inovative ideas to still multibox them like pull to the team and let one do all of the work.
I just did the Escape from Silverbrook and I hated it. I think it would have been cool to see 5 horsemen trying to escape, however Bliz seems to think otherwise.

Bliz seems to be going anti-boxing.

Bliz seems is going anti-boxing.They aren't going anti-boxing, they simply aren't designing FOR multiboxing. The follow issues may or may not be a feature, the loss of focus is inconsequential as you can refocus.

The fact that the default UI has bugs in it related to possessions tells me that blizzard still hasn't polished this the way they want.

The best work-around I have found is to mount up my main in whatever "vehicle" and simply have the slaves follow that. I seems that follow stops working for a toon that IS mounted in a "vehicle" but seems to stay intact if the follower is not.

Once I got my cold weather flying, another tactic that has worked has been to mount up the main in whatever the quest vehicle is (like sitting on the shoulder of a titan) and having my two slaves mount their fliers and have one follow the other. Then, I just fly the two slaves manually (well, one manually, one on follow) to the area where I need to be, and then bring in the main. The fliers stay out of danger, yet get credit for the kills, leaving me to single-box the encounter with my main. Luckily, most of these "take over something and kill a bunch of stuff you couldn't while alone" vehicle-type quests seem to allow this "flying within range without participating" completion.

It's annoying, but it works. Hope that helps.

Well, I would suggest everyone to make a single ticket and make Blizzard aware of this. Tell them, that you would like to see vehicles work like a normal character. So they'll be able to follow, focus, assist etc ..

Maybe you can make them aware of the "disappear" when we move into phased content aswell! I've done both, and it's most likely just a matter of the amount complaining before they change it - at least we can hope :)

In game GMs have no control over this.

I noticed the follow with non-mounted seems to work but this quest runs through water too deep for my alts not to dismount. maybe if I got them some draenei mounts they wouldn't have dismounted in the streams.

i logged off before all of the alts had done the quest only to find out that those that had finished it without turning it in had failed and I had to do it all over again :(

What sometimes worked for me was as long as you leave your alts near the drop off the point/completion point they would all get credit for the quest being complete. There was only a couple that I had to manually control thru the whole thing, such as the one where your a mountain giant in Zul Drak. That was a bit of a pain. =)

they simply aren't designing FOR multiboxing.

As is the entire game, pretty much. ;)

Multiboxing happens to work nicely, but I doubt they design quests and game mechanics around us specifically.

As for vehicles -- use the vehicle on your "main" and your followers will still follow/assist as normal. For vehicle quests that require alot of travel, set your alts down at the ending point and do the quest on your main -- most of the time you still get credit as long as you're present at the end.

EDIT: And Supernova has the right idea. The GMs have no say over game design or even bugs (though they have the power to get AROUND bugs if needed). Suggestions forums DO work, as evidenced by the whole RAF and the time in GMT without a timezone listed... thing.

Storm peaks REALLY sucks for this - the area around Dun Niffelm has like 4 or 5 phasing layers for various points along the quest lines there. To that end MAKE SURE YOUR TOONS ALL TURN IN AT SAME TIME. I've already had a case where I turned in on one early and then found that I was phased right out of being able to assist.

Bliz seems to be going anti-boxing.Nah. If anything, there's more quests that only one character has to complete, it's nice. There's a few collection quests that are brutal, but for the most part it's not bad at all.

As for the mounted quests, I just park my alts and do them one at a time - just enjoy solo play for a while, get through it, and move on.

Blizzard so far has yet to either cater to or work against boxers specifically, and I want to keep it that way. The less attention we get, the better!

(And yes, I've been doing all of the collection quests. Yes, it's brutal, but I'm in no rush, I like to do ALL quests in a zone, and the extra time grinding makes up for the loss of exp I get from running 3. I also get a lot more leather and cloth, and drops. I just set the two alts to pass on loot, and once the lead has all hers, the next gets them, then the third. It's not *that* bad.) (Okay, some of them are bad.)

Did I miss the happy ending ? Afaik, beside telling us to post there, nothing happened when we did - did it ?
(or have they fixed it now and it shows time properly somewhere ? (my raf expired long ago and got shafted of time/level))
