View Full Version : Frenzyheart / Oracles Daily faction ... either more friendly to MultiBoxers?

I'm looking to get the opinions of other multiboxers here.... last night, I finished up the quest line that results in A Hero's Burden ('http://thottbot.com/q12581'). I hadn't done my homework, so I just killed one of the adds without thinking about it, and ended up with my faction set to The Oracles. According to what I've seen, I can re-do the kill in order to change that faction.

The reason I'm thinking about that is that I've been reading up a bit on the resulting dailies from each. Both of 'em seem to have some kind of use of the dreaded "vehicle interface" (not at all multi-boxer friendly), and at least in the faction I chose, one of the Oracles quests is that annoying "walk around with the 'helper' out and have him dig up 'shinies' for you" collection quest that took me FOREVER with three toons while doing it the first time.

Bla Bla... any personal experiences with Frenzyheart / The Oracles daily quests as to whether one faction or the other has more Multi-Boxer friendly dailies?

stick with oracles if you want the fancy new emerald drake.

So far today, Ive been offered three quests from Oracles.. I am stubbing out now - will update with results:

Will of the Titans
Control Vehicle/Kill Stuff: Get hold of a crystal then a "take over a guy and kll multiple mobs with him"

I will see about looting crystal on all then using my "fly near my main on alts" technique and see how bothersome it is

FOLLOWUP: Looted crystal, used at shrine (31,75) on main and became cat with usual vehicle thing. Cat does CRAP damage. Ended up just forgetting about taking over - just killed 50 of the mobs with my usual team. Ive got a pally tank and a holy priest what worked best for me was lay down consecrate, with Retribution aura up and KEEP THAT PoM FLYING. 50 mobs in less than 5 minutes. Forget the cat - the thread on thottbot ('http://thottbot.com/q12705') says same thing.

Song of Reflection
Use Item at location: Fly to four locations and use a musical instrument

Looks VERY multi-boxer friendly

FOLLOW UP: Just fly to the tops of the pillars, land, and use the didgeridoo with one toon - all get cred - easy sauce

Appeasing the Great Rain Stone
Companion Dig-up/Collection: Call out Lafoo and run around the area to have him dig up "shiny things"

In practice, this is a 'run around with a companion who will dig up items so you can right-click collect them' quest. It means you need to collect 6 items on EACH toon. As an added bonus, the items he digs up are often bugs (which he runs around and eats, sometimes aggroing nearby mobs) and other useless stuff. Expect a 50%-ish hit rate for the right kind of thing being dug up... very multi-boxer unfrendly.

FOLLOW UP:
I found that if I stayed mounted, Lafoo didn't seem to bother chasing down bugs if he uncovered them... so stay mounted and only unmount if he uncovers a quest item. Averaged about 50% hit rate across 3 toons 21,400-ish exp at lvl 79

I've not multiboxed either of them yet, but I recommend you stick with the Oracles unless there is a specific item you want from the Frenzyheart. As the above poster said, there is an opportunity for a rare mount, and also 4 companion pets that are BoE so you can either keep them or sell them/ pass to an alt. From a purely sentimental angle, the Oracles fit the Noble Savage archetype, whereas the Frenzyheart struck me as mean and stupid, so it was a morally defensible as well as a lucrative choice. xD

Regarding the digging up shiny things, I find the other two companions to Lafoo work better at digging up the items you need, although that might be coincidence. With the cat quest, there is a sort of plateau on the far side of the Frenzyheart village where there are loads of them and they respawn really fast. Just go to this place and use either the cat or lots of AoE and keep killing them until you get 50.

It all depends on if you care about the pets or the mount you can get fro mthe ORacle egg and the item to turn into a frenzyheart from that side. If you want any of that stuff Do Frenzyheart first, much higher drop rate from the Jar and fewer things to get. Get it then switch.

you can only do 1-2 of the dailies (the kill 50 and some of the others are super easy) and skip the digging up shinies, since digging up 36 shinies will take you a long, long time. you will still hit revered within 7-15 days, and unless you are an achievement nut no real reason to grind out to exalted.

fwiw i've been revered for 5+ months on 6 chars and have had 0... yes zero mounts drop. tons of everything else including a proto-drake pet on every toon, but not a single mount :( I HATE THIS EGG

Not sure about frenzyheart as I didn't box those quests. Chicken party is about the same as the shinies oracle quest, and I wouldn't bother with either of those. Better dailies you could be spending time on.

Appeasing the Great Rain Stone ('http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=12704')Collection quest. Skip it IMO. Mastery of the Crystals ('http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=12761')Very easy. Grab crystals. Macro dropping the AoE traps x5. Gank the crap out of 50 and turn in. Power of the Great Ones ('http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=12762')Stupidly easy. Charge crystal x5, gank 30, turn in. Extra dmg means it's so easy, you wonder why this one is kill 30 and not 50.
Will of the Titans ('http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=12705')Ignore the cat. Just go kill stuff. A Cleansing Song ('http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=12735')Easy sauce. Summon and kill. Basically only limited by how fast you can fly to each spot. :P Song of Fecundity ('http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=12737')Easy. Clear aggro and stand your guys on the dirt pile. Macro 'em all to use the item and instant multiple credit. Song of Reflection ('http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=12736')Nothing to this one. Basically a delivery quest. Song of Wind and Water ('http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=12726')Multiple credit as long as you're careful to not one-shot the mobs with the damage spell. :P Only requires two kills with a 4 or 5-man group. Note that if you're grouped, these guys will always give you the same quest. Not so with Argent Crusade. :(

Personally, I'd do the frenzyheart up to A Hero's Burden, then go straight oracles. The trinkets for frenzyheart suck balls, IMO. Then there's the egg which spawns pets and the rare drake.

The ebon blade quests are easy and boxer-friendly, too, with the exception of the intel quest (where you open the chest to find the orders x5).

Argent Crusade is probably the worst as they don't give the same quest to the whole group. Talk about sucktastic.

Hodir is probably the second worst for us as just about every one of 'em is a collection quest. Bleh.

The PVP dailies are very good for money as well as they're mostly boxer-friendly except for the cogs/springs/parts one.
