View Full Version : Right Alt and Right Shift with keyclone?

It seems that keyclone doesn't differ between Right and Left modifier keys like it should..
I have bound my Caps Lock to work as the Alt Gr (right alt) button.. which, in theory, gives me another 12 buttons to bind. It works on the main WoW client, but keyclone passes the key as an agnostic alt modifier.
Is there a workaround to this issue? Has the keyclone developer said anything about upcoming fixes to this?
This kinda messes me up at the moment and I'm considering changing to some other software solution - I'm running out of buttons with the new Flame Shock, Lava Burst, Thunderstorm, Hex spells..
Which other software solutions differ between left and right modifier keys when copying keystrokes?
Btw I tried searching for this, didn't find much useful.

I've never had great success with separating those in KeyClone. I know Lax worked with a guy the other day for about an hour or two making sure the current built of InnerSpace handled those modifiers with 100% accuracy.

I've brought this up several times now. I've posted here, I've emailed him, and PM'd him - to date I received no response.
I finally switched to Innerspace:Repeater and its working great!
Live help via IRC almost 24/7 - They've been great about helping. (I say "They've" because there are usually many people in there at once and anyone that knows the answer helps - not just the dev.)
As a side note: I think Warhammer requires the specific mod keys (Lalt, Ralt, etc.) in their macros.
Edit:
I've posted about it here for anyone that wants to confirm ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&postID=142714&highlight=#top') - I've given two quick .kcl files and a macro to demonstrate the problem.
BTW: Lshift and Rshift do indeed work - but ctrl is always Rctrl and alt is anwalys Lalt (maybe the otherway around).
PS - I'll be posting my Innerspace setup soon - specificly for people using more than 1 box

In my post I only tested the hotstring ability of keyclone. Meaning, I only pressed a non-modified key (1, 2, 3, etc. - no alt, ctrl, or shift) to call the hotstring to send the modified keys to my other machines.
Doing it that way I was able to verify that lshift and rshift worked from the hotstring perspective.
NOW, that being said - I did not try calling a hotstring with a modifier (ctrl-1, alt-2, etc.) it is possible this will firthur complicate things.
I bring this up because you mentioned having trouble with shift where I did not - jsut wanted to clarify what I was doing when I didn't have the shift problem.

Which other software solutions differ between left and right modifier keys when copying keystrokes? I'm using hotkeynet for this, and it can differentiate between left and right alt, ctrl, shift fine. (using it for my ftl, with modifiers for group order beeing the right strg/shift/alt, so i con use lshift.. ..in the macros.)
A Guide for HotKeyNet can be found in my sig or on the hotkeynet-website ('http://hotkeynet.com/') .
