I picked up the ASUS 8800 GTX (768 MB) about 9 months ago. After getting the card I noticed that it ran rather hot. Start up idle it was about 58C and under load in the upper 60s to low 70s.

After doing some research I picked up Arctic Cooling's Accelero Xtreme 8800 cooling system. With some careful, simple surgery I got the new fan on with no hassle.

Now the card is running 44C at idle. And with 3 fans I was expecting some noise. It is as quiet as a mouse.

So if any of you guys have a 8800 GTX card and were looking for some after market cooling, I highly recommend this system. :thumbsup:

Yeah, those are pretty good. You have to be very careful while installing it not to cause physical damage or give it a shock. But it's a pretty easy mod.

Maybe I should consider this one. I myself is running a 8800GTX and im actually craching once every 5-6 hours or so when multiboxing. Im pretty sure its a heating problem - windows pops up with "Display driver has stopped working".

The NvTempLogger is a great little widget to monitor your nvidia card temperature...

After my 8800GT died earlier this week (I don't know if it was temperature related but that would be my guess), I now run it on both PCs for safety.

Hmm anyone know if "Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme 9800" fits on a 8800GTX - it seems it doesn't be can't find any text if it really does.

Nevermind, I can see it doesn't fit from the spec site :/ To bad. And the Xtreme 8800 is out of the market here in Denmark.
