Hi All

First of all I wanted to say how thorougly I impressed I am at the quality and friendliness of the contributions on this forum. I just stumbled across it last night. I was previously not even aware that it was even possible to run more than one instance of wow on a single machine. Anwyay, enough of the intro.

I'm considering dual or tri boxing and currently have the following roster of characters:

L70 Hunter
L70 Priest
L70 Mage
L70 Warrior
L39 Hunter
L32 Druid
L30 Rogue
L23 Warlock
L21 Shaman

I currently play with and enjoy playing with the 70 hunter and 70 priest the most. My question is really what combination of 3 would give the most rewarding, reasonably easy for a noob to get a handle on experience for multiboxing.

I'd love to play perhaps Priest + 2x Hunter, but from your experience, isn't hunter pretty tricky to multibox effectively (i.e. shot rotations). In Pve I'm sure you could put together something fairly effective, but PvP I can't see working given the number of commands I'd normally use just controlling 1 hunter.

Or am I best just starting a team from scratch to get the hang of how MBxing works 1st? Then make my decision later?

I'd like some opinions please,

Regards Kyudo

I have a hunter on my alt account I use to power level characters on my primary; having moved said hunter from my primary long ago

As such I used my Hunter in a background session. This was before the dead-zone fix in 2.3

Shot rotation was very easy to maintain. For the most part I used him with my smite priest and elemental shaman. With two characters you don't need an aggressive shot rotation, for the most part steady shot threading is all you need. Now if you were doing five man and aiming for instance work I would work in arcane shot and the like (perhaps even for arena teams)

What are you going to gain with three level 70s other than Arena and possibly BG (provided all enter the same BG!). I see three man as a leveling setup, two man is easier for farming or such.

Thanks for the input shivetya.

Well, I am currently really looking for a new "fun" element to the game, and multiboxing looks like it might provide new avenues for me to explore. Due to personal circumstances I can no longer raid, so I'm really after a new challenge. I'd aspire to be able to run instances solo, but I think the technicalities of managing that might be a little beyond me, and I dont think I really have the finances to run 4+.

i think my best bet might just be to sign up a couple of trial accounts, test a starter setup and see how it feels/performs.

Specs as follows btw:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Quad Core (2.4Ghz, 8Mb Cache, 1066Mhz)
Windows Vista Home Premium
4GB DDR2
nVidia GeForce 8600GT
22" widescreen
500GB HD

I would definitely go with some new characters and level them to 10 or so.

An example would be possibly 3 hunters. Hunters are insanely fun to level when you multibox them, they kill sooo fast. As well you can get the hang of each class in their multiboxing environment.

Your priest + any of those 70's is a good duo, war for tanking harder stuff, mage for AE'ing tons of stuff down while shielded and HOT'ed up, or with the hunter for keeping him and the pet alive.

As far as 3, You may want to roll a new setup, or at least 2 characters of the same class to run with your priest, lock-lock-priest, mage-mage-priest, or shm-shm-shm are all good.

Well I've spent all evening with a big grin on my face. Got the basics set up, having issues getting maximiser working properly, but I'll figure it out.

Gonna try out a bit with 3 locks on trial accounts, just to get to grips with it. I have a crappy 18" screen atm, so keenly awaiting the arrival of my 21" widescreen tomorrow.

Thanks for all the input guys. Loving being part of the community. I think I'm gonna have a LOT of fun with this

Cheers
