Ok I read all the strats posted and have my guys spready out etc.

Phase 1: = cake

Phase 2: = Death

Running Pally - 72 and 4 Elemental Shammy - 75

I pretty much get one shotted as my pally in phase 2 by the Dark Smash. I looked at my combat log, and it hit my for a normal hit on plate with 16k armor of almost 10k!!!! WTF? I know it said shadow damage but I highly doubt that Shadow Resist Aura would help out at all.

I save all my fire/earth elementals Bloodlust for phase 2, but its over in seconds as my tank falls almost instantly. I think my tank is rocking around 463 def, which from what I know actually is not very good, I think at level 72 he should be around 500 def. So I know I need to work that part out.

Any other suggestions?

I ran the last boss at lv 74 and brought my DK buddy along (level 72 though) to tank, just normal tank and spank for phase one. Once he went down in Phase 1 i healed everyone to full HP, dropped totems again (healing stream and wrath mostly) then once he was rezzed i dropped Fire ele, popped BL, DK held aggro for a bit but the boss died in literally 10-15 seconds. I didn't heal at all during that phase so my dmg went up a ton, lost the DK and one of my guys though.

Since your shamans are 75 make sure your usuing lava burst after a flame shock. i have a castsequenece macro for it. it does an insane amount of damage, almost killed the first boss before his skeletons could rez. But as for the last boss after you kill him in phase one drop mana totems if you need and heal up and run behind a pillar. on all my attempts he does that aoe right off the bat and knocks me down to half hp. then drop fire elementals and bloodlust. then on you tank just run through him when he does that slam or smash. just make sure you flame shock lava burt when its up. i know mine are hitting for 4700ish.

I successfully completed UK yesterday on two different teams:

Team 1: Pally, Druid, Shammy, Priest, Lock
Team 2: Warrior, Shamanx3, Lock

All were level 72 when I did it.

You should never be hit by the smashes. I spread my guys out at the end of the bridge leading to the boss, pulled him with my tank almost all the way back to the team, ran through him and turned around to face him, getting his back to my DPSers/healer. I got up DoTs/curses/faerie fire, then solely spammed my DPS and heal keys watching for Smash or Roar. The moment I saw Smash, I strafed left on my tank for a sec or two, then strafed back when I saw the Smash miss me. The moment I saw Roar, I jumped, stopping casting on all my toons. CoH or Chain Heal when my other party member's health dropped significantly.

Despite my best efforts, I missed the Roar and Smash a few times. It hurts, but I still got it done, even with some misses. Wiped once on Team 1, three times on Team 2 before downing him.

You should be able to do it as your levels are quite a bit higher than mine were. Just can't ignore Smash/Roar.

Hope that helps.

It takes next to no effort to dodge the attacks he uses...you have like 3 full seconds to run through him when he starts casting dark smash (It only takes about .2 seconds to run through him). Also when he starts casting roar you have awhile to jump on your casters).

All you should be doing is staring at his cast bar and reacting as necessary.

The Roar I avoid everytime now. Easy cake now that I was paying attention. I didn't actually think about Smash though. I think I'll disable my SCT on my tank so I can see the warning a little better.

I never have been grouping my shammies up after phase 1 I have just been leaving them and I think you are correct they get hit by the AOE right off the bat. I do have my shammies spread around all the pillars so maybe I should just group them around 1 pillar to make it easier for myself?

good luck

Warning?.....
Press V....turn on enemy nameplate cast bars in your interface options. Watch for cast.

I drop 4 by Healing stream totems and the only time i heal now is when he cast his axe in phase 2 and it sits on my tank. All my guys are 72 atm. The instance prolly takes me 20-30 depending on how lazy im feeling.

You can completely negate the Smash and Dark Smash by running through him the moment he starts to cast and wait behind him (decently behind, few extra yards), he uses the skill and you can go back.

This way you will get a lot less hit and you'll find this boss seriously easy. :p
