I've been reading a lot about multi-boxing and I am excited to get started. I got everything set up, but when I went to set up the accounts I got this "Error 203" thing. Has anybody else seen this? What could be the causes and what solutions have worked?

You're new at this posting thing, I take it? That's not much information. O_o

Only thing I can think of that tends to trigger errors beyond PEBKAC at this stage is if you tried to open more than three trial accounts from the same IP address. Is that what you did?

If it's PEBKAC, that's fine too, you're new. But I need more info about what you were doing to make sense of it since I'm not privy to Blizzard's internal error codes.

Yea, I'm definitely new. I'll admit that. I've been trying to open Recruit a Friend accounts for the experience boost, but I did open a few trials a little while back just to see if my system could handle multi-boxing. If they block off opening multiple trials, then how do people open up 5 or 10 chain RAF accounts? I figured this would probably be the place to ask.

You wait for it to time out, or use a different internet connection (work, public library, etc), or call Blizzard to get them to put it through. It's just a block to prevent mass-registration for spam / etc, they'll override it if you ask and aren't doing other suspicious things.

I don't really like calling Blizzard though. I've had to a few times for account/billing issues (mostly billing screwups) and they tend to leave you on hold. Sometimes for a number of hours.

I actually had a very good experience with Blizzard tech support which amazed me, given some of the horror stories I heard. They weren't able to remove the block, but they went through the trial account creation on their end, sent me a password reset, and then waited while I upgraded the account and sent myself another RAF request. They then repeated this again so the RAF accounts were properly chained. I'd try giving them a call.

Best way to do this, in my experience, is just buy the keys on gamersloot.net (or something like it).

yeh, it's your global IP that needs to change - however, I suspect that it may be "cookied" or similar on your machine aswell, otherwise they would run into massive problems when people who share a NAT'ed internetconnection sign up. Think dorms and similar.

Either call them up, and ask for help or walk to a friends house and borrow his/her pc for 10 minutes. Library pc works aswell. In both cases, I'd suggest making these trial accounts with a bogus password, and then change it when you come home. At least then, you can be confident your didn't get hacked due to poor security-setup on the library or your friends pc.
