Okay, been posting a few topics (OS upgrade question) and bugging poor Zanthor through PM's (thanks Zan!).

So, here's my thinking as to what I'd buy: (all from newegg.com)

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit English for System Builders 1pk DSP OEI DVD - OEM ('http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116488') ($99.99)

MSI K9A2 CF-F V2 AM2+/AM2 AMD 790X ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail ('http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130172') ($94.99)

AMD Phenom 9950 2.6GHz Socket AM2+ 125W Quad-Core Black Edition Processor Model HD995ZXAGHBOX - Retail ('http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103291') ($172.99)

G.SKILL 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL6S-2GBMQ - Retail ('http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231111') (x4; $103.96)

Add to this my existing components as follows:

HD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3250410AS 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM
GPU: EVGA 320-P2-N811-AR GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail
Case-P/S: RAIDMAX SMILODON ATX-612WBP Black 1.0mm SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Foldout MB Computer Case With 500W Power Supply - Retail
Monitor: Acer AL1916WAbd Black 19" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor - Retail

Think that will run 5 boxes in WotLK no problem?

i don't see any issues, looks fine to me :P (even though i personally prefer intel cpu's for the time being :whistling: )

Yeah, I'm an AMD guy. Have been for eons. Zan pointed out that processor (I'd missed it) so its the one for me. :)

Thanks for the confirmation. I'm hoping this upgrade will be enough to keep me running all current WoW content without frame rate issues.

Monitor is to small imo, if your running single screen it will be slightly crampped and you will have to use maximizer or windowsnapper and the first is pretty slow.

I would also recommend a Solid state disk for wow to run on. I have that processor and with everything going im about 50-60 avg on core usage and about 70% on ram with 5 going + fraps.

Can play it fine, but if I were to change one thing I would have gotten x2 24" monitors.

I would expect this system to just absolutely scream. I wouldn't personally waste money on a Solid State Hard Drive. I run nice and smooth on my quad 2.3 in most places, a LOT smoother everywhere now that I have 8gb of ram.
