It's really starting to annoy me that /follow breaks all the time. Not because of 'lag', the alts dont 'hang' or have low fps or whatever, just becuase the main 'vanishes', then i fly back with the main,a nd it takes sometimes 5-10 seconds before the alts can 'see' the main again.

Mostly happens when flying on epic mounts, but also had it happen on groundmounts and even on normal follow.

anyone else noticed these issues/ knows what to do against them? I had no problems flying in outland whatsoever, I always put my main on auto fly when doing dailies, getitng a drink etc, never broke

As I already mentionned it's not because of lag or anything, my main is running 60 fps smooth, alts capped at 30, all running smooth without shocks. The main just often 'disappears' and then follow breaks.

I've also noticed this happening a lot more in ice crown and storm peaks, than anywhere else

I'm pretty sure it's the new "phasing" thing they put in.

It's how they make certain parts of the map update for only you after doing a quest line.

The Death Knight starting zone is a good example.

It's definately something they changed. I run 64 bit Vista with 8 gig ram and my guys fall off follow also. It is only when you change between certain zones. Unforunately its nothing that we can fix or get changed. Im pretty sure its just something we will have to get used to.

The only people that would even notice this is people that box. Any normal player running 1 account would never even notice there was a change implimented that does this.

This issue has happened to me for years.

I have this too when entering zones with phased content.
These zones are like an on-the-fly instance and what you see is basically the same that happens when you enter a WotLK instance: your main gets in and the following characters break follow.

You can find out whether this is the problem or not:
When your toons break up, fly back to where they have broken off, then go back 20 yards more. Now continue to go forward again. Your toons should stop following again more or less at the same spot they broke up before.

If it has been happening before WotLK, then it's more likely to be a performance issue.

I noticed this new problem with WotLK as well. Very annoying when it happens, but at least it isn't happening everywhere.

I only seemed to have trouble moving in and out of the misty area in Borean, everywhere else has been just dandy :)

I have got my team to 80 and notice in more in ice crown and storm peak then anywhere else. Very annoying but I don't see a solution to it except to be aware of it when your about to reach a phased area. And yep, its all the phased areas that have changed as I have completed quest chains.

Phased content ;)
I have the same problem in that region.
If you watch it more closely, you will actually see your alts diappear for a moment when you all enter the 'instance' simultaneously (broadcast the forward movement key).

The new phasing sistem can cause this to, like that mystic fog shit in boren tundra.

I've never been able to fly on epic mounts without it breaking. :(

I've mostly had this issue in Storm Peaks, but then I haven't spent much time in Icecrown yet. Regardless of location, I often lose alts w/ epic flying mounts that are following a toon that has a normal flying mount. Although the normal flying mount people keep up. I've taken to reducing everyone to the normal flying mount instead until I can manage to put together funds to get everyone up to epic flying.
