I have been a long time reader of these forums and first wanted to say thanks to everyone for helping me figure out how to MB.

I recently started lvl'ing an aff Lock and a Spriest. Until I hit lvl 40 with both I set my priest as my main and had my lock follow me around. My main reasoning for this was to be able to throw heals on my voidwalker when needed and the occasional fear and just have the lock dot everything. ON a side note, my mains are a warrior and rogue so I am a complete nub when it comes to casters.

I just hit 41 on both toons and here's where I don't know what to do. I originally planned on lvling to 70 as aff lock and Spriest, is that the best way to do it with this combo? Do I take shadowform and rely on Health funnel to keep my pet up? Do I respec the priest to disc or holy with the intent of just keeping the pet alive and using him for a little dps boost? What is the ideal dps cycle to use between the two classes? Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated.

I would keep leveling affliction on the lock until 50. takes a few seconds to kill something but its great survivability. If it was me, I'd switch the lock to be the main @ 50 and respec demonology to get the felguard and run the priest as holy or disc and aoe farm / quest. Just round up mobs with your pet and keep your priest healing the pet. If you pull aggro you're priest is right there for the instant fearbomb.

I say run the Lock as you main because next to the druid class, I've played a lock the most, so I'm pretty comfortable where as I'm a noob with a priest other than being a healbot.

i would switch.

affliction lock in front, priest to psychic scream.

but then agian, i draintank with my warlock/imp combo while i solo. having a priest in the mix would mean nonstop killing. with high enough mp5 and spirit on the priest, this means enless renews on the lock, which means endless heals on the lock (renew, siphon life, drain life, haunt), which means endless mana (dark pact, life tap), which means literally zero downtime. drain life + mindflay = mobs never running too far. throw in instant howl of terror, then psychic scream and you have yourself a winner. only down side is that the lock will have a larger repair bill due to it "tanking" everything. glyph of fear, glyph of mindflay and glyph of holy nova should add to this deadliness.

but think about this setup and see if it intrigues you.

So if I go the drain tanking route is there really any reason to have the priest spec'd shadow?

i would spec it shadow until mindflay. if you want mana regen too.. then vampiric embrace/touch (forgot which one) is nice. i forgot to mention the spriest does have two Dots to add, which is sw:pain and devouring plague. mindflay to slow your feared mob down so you dont have to run after them after the first drainlife, as i've encountered this before. your sprist's renew will probably be enough to keep the warlock happy. i'd spec to improve renews, improve fortitude and mindflay. the rest is up to you to decide.

I'm currently lookin to start a duo as I stated in another post...

Just wondering... The felguard has AE? I had NO clue he could do soo much.

When I quit WoW before I had a 70 S Priest... I realized how hard Rez hurt my DoTs and kind of gave up.
I came back to WoW and lvled my Lock to 72 in like 2 weeks with the RAF system with a buddy of mine (I pretty much lvled our guys together as a lock/rogue dual box).

But I might be starting over on another server... I'm currently drain tanking on my Alliance lock. It's amazingly easy without a healer. Would felguard be better for lvling then drain tanking if I were to start over?
