So here is my problem. After running a few instance I understand how important it is to have a tank! makes instance grinding 10 times easier Question is What tank to make

I have the following to choose from
Fresh level 70 Prot Pally
Level 61 Death Knight

here is the way I see it.
After some tweeking I have been able to make my DK tank like a champ burn all of his runes and effect the most mobs possible. hurray me
my current attack cycle is Frost plague pest Death and decay. then ill spam out some scruge strikes and what not but I digress

The Dk to me is fresh and new while the pally has been umm in time out for a very long time I dont think i would really get bored with either one as long as they were both able to do what I need them to do.

From the posts I have seen here it really seems like I SHOULD be able to do that. Sure im missing Blocks but what I miss in block I should more then make up in parry/Bone shield icebound fort ECT. and even though they might not have a Really TRUE taunt I feel that what they might lack in that they more then make up for in AOE dmg with Death and decay pest blood boil and not to mention blight. I dont think holding agro is really going to be a problem. I think the main thing that is pushing me towards Dks is this Perhaps I really want to play with my friends and not Multibox? I really dont want to play a Pally and while I am in love with my 5 shamen after playing 5 of them @ once I dont think i would want to play only one. So thats where my choice in the DK has really sprouted from.

My main reason for posting this is just so I could put my thoughts down on paper and so to speak get it off my chest otherwise I would be battling with my self for a very long time lol (its a plight of a multiboxer)

So what Im asking of the community is this. How many of you are trying out the Dk tanking? How is it working for you? is it a dream or a nightmare or perhaps somewhere in the middle? Do you regret your choice? if so why? Do you feel that it was the right move and you wont be looking back? I suppose its just some questions to help me ease my mind and let me feel that although its not the typical class to do tanking it is a possibility that will pay off.

As always yall thanks for listening to my random rant =)

With my team of 5 i will be using my pally as tank. For me hit is hard for my to dual box my priest and dk. Pally is just easy mod tank, i do three things at the start and it is almost impossible to take off of me. I think dk will be like warrior, where you have to be on top of everything.... This is just me, i just cannot do dk as mb tank.

I run almost exclusively with DK tanks (one in particular) While I do not control him myself, the DK is very easily able to keep AOE agroe over my chain lightning, and their single target TPS on the burn target is very VERY impressive.

I have yet to run into an issue where my Shamans pull aggro off my paladin tank, if your shamans are pulling aggro off the back with a chain lighting, may want to give them a paladin a second to make sure a tick of consencrate actuallys flys before doing a chain lightning, after waiting roughly 2 ticks, i have no Aggro issues at all, like Drizzit said, Paladin is EZ Mode

My Paladin has had no problems holding aggro since level ~60 even with 70's nuking the mobs.

Not having any problems holding aggro and taking big hits with my unholy DK tank.

I use this sequence which pulls tons of aggro in the first few seconds that none of my dps can match...

DG -> D&D -> IT -> PS -> Pest -> UB

After that I just auto attack and keep up D&D and UB. On boss fights I also use DC to dump runic power.

I've been running 4 DKs/priest as one of my groups (have a pally and a war tanks as well). I think of DKs as the unholy pallies (especially if they're 'unholy' spec) :) Initially I was running the tank DK as frost as everyone said that it's the tanking spec. After I speced all of DKs unholy and tried it again all I gotta say is wow! Holding agro is not an issues, dps is insane at this level (was getting 700+) with packs of mobs at 60!

One thing to see is how they will scale at 80. Spell rotations are longer on DKs and the need to target/click DnD aoe spell takes a bit more work but it's nothing game braking. After a few pulls you get into it (even with DnD x4). For now I look at damage mitigation in this order war->pally->DK (never played a bear so don't know that one). For 5 mans/heroics/10mans? I think DKs should be fine. Most of the mitigation frost talent seem at the bottom of the tree so for now I'll stay with unholy. Thought Hungering Cold is a good @#$ button if the mobs go after someone else and you need time to grab them back.

4 DK's and a priest is a very smart team, the only downside is getting cleaved but even then the priest can AoE heal to compensate. Man that group sounds good I'm wishing I levelled all my DK's up now

Yeah DKs are still melee so you get the usual problems but.. specing unholy helps with that a bit; as you do more dmg with aoe/diseases. It's more forgiving than blood (right now I'm getting 15-25% dmg from attacks and rest from spells). I've tried running 5 xDKs all blood hoping that the self heal would be enough but it didn't quiet work out :) It's also more dependent on melee dmg.

I'm still not sure how viable this group will be later but it's fun for now.. while my shamies are getting rested.
