Herbing and mining on Main

I plan to do herbing and mining on my main, is there any addon that can scan for herbs and minerals? ?(

I think Blizzars had made sure that is not possible to scan for two things on one pg. Addons can't even memorize what the tracking saw as it is printed directly to the map.

The closest you can get, I think, is gathermate (or similar addons) that will show you where you *may* find a (herb or mining) node.

Its a pain to keep switching your tracking back and forth. The only real way to successfully do this is to get one on a second toon just for the tracking.

For example. MIning and Herbalism on main toon. Main toon keeps Track Mining Node turned on
Herbalism on Second toon. Second toon keeps Herbalism tracking on. He doesnt gather hes just a tracker.

just make sure you have a good view at the 2nd accounts mini map and you'll be good to go.

I did that on one of my teams, herbing and mining on the leader, then made this macro:

/castsequence track herbs, track mining
bind it to your follow key, and hit it every few seconds, annoying at first, but after you get used to it you do it without thinking.

My pally who is Herb and Mine can track both at the same time. I dont know if he is perma bugged or what. My other herb miner can only track 1 at a time. Its very nice to see both at the same time. I dont know why thats not standard if you have the professions.

Hmmm, I plan different jobs for each of the 5 shaman so I do not really want to repeat herb on another. Thanks for the tip anyway. 8)

You have a point as the follow key really becomes a habit, I think I will take a look into doing that, thx. :thumbup:

The addon can be configured to share information with others who also have the addon in your guild.

So when they mine, your addon receives the information, and vice versa.
You can even download the wowhead database and import it, which will then list thousands of places a given resource has been found.
You can enable or disable filters, so it only shows a specific mineral or type of herb.

There is a HUD option, which is very useful when you're on a faster flying mount. It shows where herbs have been in the zone and your direction to them.
If can show a path where you have been recently, so you don't backtrack to where you've already gathered resources.

You can enable or disable it with a mini-map button click, so its there when you want it, but out of the way when you're doing other things.

Is there a way to make the minimap larger?

I can live with having to look from sreen to screen once in a while while tracking herb on one and mining on another toon. But since I have 4 toons on my 32" screen the map is rather small. Is there a way to make it bigger and still be able to see the nodes?

maybe add the /castsequence tracking macro to your follow macro? i don't think it actually uses any sort of GCD... just a thought :huh:

I envy you! Wow that must be nice.

btw to the OP. Get gatherer addon and database from curse.com and that will help a lot. It will show you where herbs and mines are on the mini-map and in the display if you like.

My Druid alt has had both professions for years and for a long while was able to track both as well. I figured out why after transferring my Paladin to a fifth account when I started 5-boxing. When the transfer was processed she had the crusader aura up, however when I tried to change it the new aura would come up but crusader did not go away! Two aura's! 8o That's when it hit me that during the character copy/transfer of my druid years ago to my second account, the gathering aura got flagged as "on" and then remained on even when I switched to the other gathering aura. It was so nice, but it got fixed in 3.0.1 ;( and I can't justify paying $50 to get it back (at least without knowing that I would get it back :whistling: ).
