Mangle.... how did i ever play this game without you?
So according to the tooltip on the talents page, mangle gives you some extra damage, and does a little more damage to bleeding targets. It doesn't say exactly how much, so as I passed level 50, i just accumulated talent points and didn't spend any of them, figuring mangle isn't that great if they don't tell you how much it hits for. Everyone that has played a feral druid may now smack me with the cluebat.

I THOUGHT i was doing really awesome with shred x 5 and running thru the target. It killed pretty fast, mostly. Getting behind the target with 1 or more druids was easy enough. At lvl 54, i figured I might as well spend the points, I'll be respeccing to boomkin at lvl 60 anyway. WOW what a difference. Low energy cost, high damage, non positional spam attack. If mutilate is ANYTHING like this, ill respec my rogues asap hehe.

Anyway, my current method is to run around in catform (of course) cast feral fairy fire at something, run through it on the main char, spin that 1 around to attack, and just spam mangle till its dead. Almost everything dies before it gets 2 combo points on it, who needs finishing moves? For elites and players, first I stealth, then I pounce on the main, and just spam mangle x5.

Oh yeah, did I mention I havent trained ANYTHING in 18 levels?

Maybe ill switch to boomkin, but man these guys are fun atm.

Mmm, I tried boxing 5 melee but it's a PITA. Positioning and follow problems, auto attack problems, and slow. Generally my finger wiggler teams are: volley 1, maybe volley 2, loot.

its... ok.

prowl on all five.
pounce. mangle. ff. shred. get in front.
other four in the back stealthed still.... ravage. loot.

ravage or shred > mangle. but mangle is uni-facing. lol, i just made that up. ravage and shred must be doen from behind. just keep mangle up on your main, and have the rest ravage/shred. this is for optimal dps. in groups i mangle to keep the debuff up, but i almost always shred, then rip at 4 or 5 combo points. when your slaves begin their ravage/shred, you should already be ready to Maim.

if its an elite, Rip and switch to bear. Mangle in bear form gives the same debuff. in bear, mangle, lacerate, lacerate, lacerate, mangle, lacerate lacterate. this keeps mangle up and also gets your lacerate to 5. keep lacerate at 5. you dont want to start over. those are the only two spells you really need to micro manage. maybe demo-roar too.

edit: make sure you have this macro for your slaves.
/cast [stealth] ravage; shred

so just press that button. if they're in stealth mode, they'll ravage, if they're not, they'll shred. remember this only works if they're behind the target. your first pounce mangle shred should give you enough of an aggro boost to keep the mob on you. (also, add target=targettarget/focustarget, etc where applicable)

oh and mangle increases damage on shred too. if your 4xRavage doesnt kill the mob, your next 4xShred will. you can even switch to bear on your main if you have an elite (those rock elementals in netherstorm, etc). dont forget to work in Cower on the cats and growl on the bear if the fight gets longer. and you do get self-healed when you crit right?

sorry, edited this post twice so if things look like a repeat, sorry.

Bearform? whats that? lol.

Im actually thinking of adding one of these feral cat guys to my rogue team so that they get the leader of the pack 5% crit buff and self healing on their crits. Plus having a pseudo healer/ resser on the team would be kinda nice. I liked the shred when i was using it, but mangle for me is way too good, I don't like the positional requirement when on large targets especially. Getting behind things (and close enough) can be problematic especially when chasing things down. The big red swirly mangle animation coming from the mob 5x per second rules too, people are always asking wtf it is lol.

I played my first AV last night at 59, I got reported AFK almost immediatly (jerks), but I was just there to get my quests done. I capped the mine in less than 1 min, next I got the banner in the cave, then came back to the base as horde were cleaning house. I managed to cap both towers and the GY while mentioning in BG chat "YOU'RE WELCOME - your friendly bg multiboxer". We eventually won that bg by 100 reinforcements, and the next game by 25. I changed some minds methinks.
