Okay So I think I messed up. I want to use RAF to gain exp faster. I have my main account and I purchased 4 additional wow cdkeys to use as slaves. I used the RAF from my main for all 4. Now it seems the shaman on my main is getting alot more exp then the others. Ideas?

are they all the same level?
are they all partied with your shaman?
as long as one is linked to you, you both will get 3x exp. unless there's a bug, that's how its supposed to be.
so with..
Main refers A
Main refers B
Main refers C
Main refers D
you will get 3x as long as main is partied with any of the four new accounts.
note, they will not gain 3x exp if they are partied together wihtout the main.
i would have done it differently, but well you gotta work with what you have.

Yes I should of refered them each with the other accounts. But for quest turn ins the main getss double what the others are getting at the same level. They are all at 6 main is 9

if he's gaining 6x exp then there's a bug somewhere. enjoy it.
it sounds like it might mess tihngs up for you if your main gets past 4 levels beyond your slaves... but...
make two mains to level up. if your main is getting 6x exp and your slaves are only getting 3x.... have two mains. in the end, you'll have two mains at relatively the same levels with the slaves and enough grantable levels for two more characters to get to 60.
i suggest checking the exp you're actually getting.
kill a mob on your main window. note the exp gained.
kill the same level mob but this time be on your slave's window. note the exp gained.
do this also for quest turn ins and see where the bug lies.

Now they are all gaining the same exp. But its weird. I did the same quest on all of them except the main got more exp. How does the Grant a level option work?

when you turned in your quest, were they all partied together? and standing close by?
as for granting levels, make a new character in your main account. party with any of your four slaves. using the slave, right click on the main-alt's portrait, select grant level. easier than pie.
each slave gets 1 grantable level for every two levels the slave gains. so at 60, your slave can grant anyone in your main account 29 total levels. this is, of course, the character on your main account is lower than level 60.

Okay sorry for all the questions I'm trying to understand this.
So I have 1 main and 4 slaves. If I save all the granted levels from the slaves that would be 29x4
So I could make 2 new toons and get them both to 59 right off the bat?
Once the 4 shaman are 60 of course

You can also check the combat log. Experience gain is shown there, and it specifically will break out rest, party, and RAF bonus components of XP gain.
I suspect the OPs problem was turning in a quest with his slaves when his master account (the veteran for all the slaves) wasn't nearby. I've been burned several times by the need for physical proximity of the toons in order to get the RAF experience bonus. They actually have to be quite close (i.e. tens of yards, although it's not like I've tested this exhaustively).

Correct. You are of course limited to having these toons on the main account based on how you did your setup, but you can always do some character transfers. You also DO NOT want to do it this way. Instead, level the 2 new toons to level 2.999 (i.e. very close to level 3). Then grant them levels to get to 60. The XP bar will stay at 60.999 and you will be just a quest away from 61. I would also only do this if you're confident that's all the toons you want. It is SO FAST leveling at the low levels that it's really a major waste of grant a levels to grant lowbie levels.
If you're ready to have your mind blown, here's a fun factoid. The granted levels through RAF grant a level count as earned levels for the purposes of granting MORE levels. In your case, you won't be able to take advantage of that, unfortunately.
But say you do your referrals like this A -> B -> C -> D -> E.
You then level two full teams up to level 60. Accounts B, C, D, E each have 58 bonus levels to grant. Let's say they gift a level 2 toon on account A, B, C, and D to 60. Guess what? The new level 60 toon on accounts B, C, and D now has 29 levels to grant themselves to accounts A, B, and C. And so on, with half the number of levels to grant each time. I can hardly believe it, but this is the way RAF grant a levels work. This effectively nearly doubles the amount of bonus levels you get with RAF if you use the "serial" referral topology, but you have to plan carefully to use this effectively. I didn't really myself ....
