View Full Version : Please confirm my understanding of "round robin" in keyclone...

Let me start off by saying that I've been using the cast sequence variety of macros to pass spells like Thunderstorm to each of my shamans.
It seems all along it would've been easier to simply place say the "5" key in the round robin list in "keyclone" and drag the Thunderstorm spell to the action bar in the "5" slot. In turn, every time I hit "5" it would pass the Thunderstorm command to each window in sequence from 1 through 5. Is this how the round robin feature actually works? If so, I'm such a dope lol. I can't believe I didn't actually implement this sooner...sigh.

Assuming you set it up correctly, yes, that is exactly how it works.
I use it for Wind Shock so I don't burn them all up at once. I also use it for Elementals and Heroism. Actually I use it for a bunch of stuff but you get the idea.

or you could just macro this on every character placing it on the same button:
Sham1
/castsequence reset=45 Thunderstorm,,,,
Sham2
/castsequence reset=45 ,Thunderstorm,,,
Sham3
etc....
either way works, I just like this as I dont have to keep one button as "The Round Robin Button" for all my sets of characters.

Yes but theres one advantage round robin has (a BIG one) over using castsequences.
/stopcasting
/cast Thunderstorm
With roundrobin this will stop casting on ONE toon and then thunderstorm immediately. Without round robin you're stuck with:
/stopcasting
/castsequence reset=45 Thunderstorm,,,,
etc.
This means every time you hit it, it will stop ALL casting from ALL shamans and then cast thunderstorm - severe DPS hit.

Multi....that's exactly the way I have it set up now. I even think you gave me the code for the cast sequence portion. I was just thinking that it might be easier to utilize the round-robin feature.
Again, thanks for the replies.

Hachoo, do you then make a macro for Thunderstorm like;
/stopcasting
/cast Thunderstorm
and place it in the #5 slot for each shaman and then add "5" to the round robin list?

As he said, yes.
I also use the same thing for my priest/lock team for AoE fears and also my shaman team for round robin earth shocks.
